I've done a fair amount of bike touring, I guess it depends on the climate but I'd be concerned about the waterproofing, especially the sleeping bag. No-one wants a damp sleeping bag. Ortlieb panniers have served me well for the past 15 years through Scottish weather. Also, looks like you'd need a different front light setup with the rando bag on the front. Overall rig looks pretty cool though! Has a burning man vibe to it.
@@thepandaman thanks for the feedback. I had the entire rear rack area covered with a waterproof cover. I also have a rear cage with waterproof saddle bag configuration that I didn't use this time. Just trying different set up's...cheers.
@@Deweyroams24444 I've been running a cheap trailer for 2 years, and it hinders you a lot less than you would think, even over just wayless forest floor, given a good drivetrain. However it basically doubles the capacity of what I can carry, and also allows bulky stuff to be transported easier. Also your legs will be steel in no time lol. Mine has two wheels, single solid axle, I think that makes more sense for actual loads than single wheel trailers. It also rides more stable, and let's you ride really really slow without having to balance to much. Like your set up.
Yes I did yesterday....didn't do a camp over, but about a 7km round trip. The tent is too big for this config. I have a 2 person tent, I'd try next time, or a tarp shelter. I posted a vid of yesterday's run.
@@Alx-je7oj not really, if it's an EMP or solar flare that caused the grid down, I may have an issue with fried electronics. The current configuration with that weight and myself on the bike can go 70-90 kms. Once the batteries are dead, I can still ride or push the bike. If I get an opportunity to recharge the batteries through solar/ gas generator It would obviously be beneficial. I'm just running different configurations....you may live longer then me in a grid down, you may not...
Signal if you need a rescue :) Looks like fun - Can't wait for the camp video
Haha...thanks. I should make it back alive!

I have the Fucare Libra, that Gemini is rated for 400 lbs.
I'd hook up a one-wheel trailer to your bike and you can carry the other stuff.
@@fkipke I've been thinking about it....

@@weapon131 maybe I'll pick one up and give it a try. Thanks for the insight.
Have you done a shakedown ride/campout with this configuration? I would highly suggest doing that.

After a few trips you will want to replace most of your heavy "car camping gear" with lighter options.
I already own lighter gear
Your first mistake was having an E bike in a grid down situation..........

My bike gets a 100 mpg. No way I would take an e bike for a bug out ride.
Take what works best for you. I wish you luck
