Whenever a corps posts an official video like this, they become 100x cooler in my book
it's more so if they're allowed to due to copyright stuff
I'm just glad we're almost out of the "buy a $60 blu-ray or never see the show again" era.
This is something, if copyright allows them, that every corps should be doing. Phantom has been doing it since 2021 and I have huge respects for them.

This is how shows should be put on RUclips. Official versions that promote the corps social media, aren’t at risk of being taken down, and are easy to find and archive. Phantom, and now Mandarins, are playing the game right.

Im pretty sure the reason a lot of corps dont is cause they dont keep the copyright forever

@@uncle6431Yeah, the video would be demonetized at most, they wouldn’t be strikes to my knowledge for the same reason cover songs exist on RUclips. This is transformative, so there really isn’t anything to fear. I guess it’s the fact they don’t want to be threatened by a lawsuit due to licensing since they most likely have restrictions. These are safe to post, but it’s licensing issues.

I will be seeing them tomorrow at Stanford. Haven't followed DCI in ages. Saw they placed 6th last year, and am blown away by this performance. Gave me so many chills.

We all know and love this part 9:00 I don’t know how to explain it but this sound is what it feels like to be freed. Would literally eat this ballad if I could, the way it comes together perfectly is crazy

Coolest show in existence even the opening hits are awesome, also vocals were not over used or weird like blue coats (although they were still good) , vocals were awesome as story telling and entrances to hits

@@clamchowder893 well there were multiple like the songs throughout that sounded like they had really bad auto tune
I think sadly the opening horn entrance section suffered a lot from alignment issues between the hornline and drumline, and would have garnered a lot more points from the judges if it was more in time.
crazy hot take, if you're talking about the bluecoats vocals used for Riffs then I disagree, the vocals fit in with the show well

this had to be the crowd favorite when i saw them at san antonio. huge standing ovation for this corps. the show was magnificent
Got to see this live at the DCI Eastern Classic Aug. 5th. The show and performers were absolutely outstanding. Gave me chills to watch in person and it still gives me chills just to watch the video. Incredibly talented team. You should be very proud of what you’ve accomplished this season. Best wishes for continued success in everything that you do!

This show is an absolute stunner - even if you removed the brass, percussion and drill and just considered the use of color, props, spacing, etc. So well-designed and beautiful to look at! It is great to see the Mandarins coming into their own as one of the top corps. I am a fan!
If this corps had a boring show, they never would have achieved so much. The writers deserve a ton of credit for getting them a program that they could get into and perform the crap out of it. One of the most entertaining shows the last 10 years. Great job staff!

Everything about this show it absolutely fantastic! The mandarins should have placed higher. The performance level is out of the roof and i love it. Planning on joining the mandarins this 2024 season💜💜💜
All up to cleanliness in terms of score, but the show design is crazy good, I'd check out EMC for his rating based solely on the design of the shows.
A few mistakes but honestly it is the only show from this year that I actually want to watch again. You can tell that there was so much fun just putting this show together.

This is just a masterclass in visual performance.
Sat 3rd row from the field on the 50. The performance level from the whole group was outstanding. Best energy of all finals imo. The two soloists at the 4.25 mark are fantástico! Also.. that ballad hit HARD at finals.

This is a smart show design, supported by a stage set that does double-duty. The racks of jail cell bars create a prison setting, but also turn into a mechanized cycle where the victims are stuck churning in a prison-for-profit system. This show is era-specific, but the heavy present-day social commentary seethes quietly under the surface. In Sinnerman, the pleasant metaphor of 1950's good guy American crooks belies the grim topic underneath-- our present-day prison for profit system is still wringing men dry of their futures. They get life sentences for petty crimes, like marijuana trafficking and auto theft, destined for repeat offenses. Regular, law-abiding, churchgoing citizens are eventually all sucked into the prison system, transforming them from white cassock adorned acolytes into prisoners.
Design matters. And in this case, the show was rewarded for high stakes social commentary, and a powerful, dizzying visual metaphor.

Honestly wasn’t into it at first, but the ballad made everything come together. Took me a few listens to figure out what song it was but once it hit me?? Incredible. Also I know facial expressions have to be extreme to read from far away but this show is unique in that those extreme features _add_ to the show when viewed closer rather than detracting from it. Incredible work all around.
