Hi Victoria, I wanted to tell you how helpful your videos were to me! With no experience, I enrolled in a 1 year medical coding/billing course. When I started studying for the CPC exam, I was confused and overwhelmed with what I needed to work on in order to pass. I found your channel and started watching clips on topics I was struggling with. The tips and tricks I gained from watching your videos was the help I needed. The score on my first attempt was a 71, but I don’t believe I would have passed if I hadn’t watched your videos and used your study and coding tips. Thank you again!!
Yes I'm planning to take all my certifications this year. I am way behind. I graduated 2017. So yes I'm ready to prepare to take the aapc and cpc certification.
I have to say a big THANK YOU for your guideline series, it helped me pass my CPC exam last week online. I am now a coder for a specialty I’ve been in for 5 years now and I’m sooo grateful ❤
Just took my CPC exam first attempt and failed by 2 points. I was disappointed but also proud I only missed it by 2 I thought I was failing miserably as I was going through it. I wish there would have been a tutorial on how to use the testing program I had to fumble around on my own to figure out how to navigate the test. The proctor wasn't much help for me either. I know if I hadn't found you videos a week before my exam I wouldn't have gotten so close your very informative and I enjoy your content and knowledge please continue to do what you do your instruction is very valuable. I know I'll pass the next attempt with some more practice and some more of your videos
I passed my CPC-A on the first attempt! I used AAPC's program and primarily your videos as a supplement. You have provided so much good information and I'm excited to open more doors for advancement in Payer Operations. The online proctored exam was _so_ much better than any of my experiences with WGU as well. I got lucky with who I connected with as a proctor. I think my only real complaint is they don't allow you to have a whiteboard or scratch paper and that would have been really helpful for the E/M portion. Thanks again for your excellent content!
Hi! I just took the remote CPC exam with the online proctor 2 days ago and just found out that I passed! I want to thank you for all of your review videos. I watched EVERY single one. I did the Preppy Medical Billing and Coding course first and then studied with your videos. The proctor part of the remote test was a because they both had different ideas as to where to put the webcam and it was difficult to show the screen, my hands, my books and face all at the same time. I allowed 1.5 hours between the two 2 hour exams. It took over an hour to get the webcam to be seen by the proctor, so I ended up just having 30 minutes between exams.
I passed the online CPC exam on the first try 2 weeks ago, passing with an 82%. Victoria, your videos, tips, and information were a large part of my study journey and I am so grateful. The online exam through AAPC now is 4 hours (they no longer offer a split exam (2 hrs, 2 hrs). I recommend following the AAPC online rules to the letter!! They are not messing around with those rules. The proctor DOES require a camera scan of the ceiling, floor, desk, etc. They only allow one drink on desk and nothing else except your books. My Wi-Fi cut out 1/3 way through the exam which caused great anxiety - fortunately I was able to contact the proctor through the Chat box. They got me logged back in, had to do another room scan, lost about 20 minutes, and I was back on track. I got my results in 2 hours through AAPC. The proctor did have a thick accent, which took some time to navigate. I recommend taking deep breathes, believe in what you know, and be patient. Thanks again for your info. You truly are the Medical Coding Goddess (which is much cooler than Nye the Science Guy anyway!). :)

I take the CPC exam online on Nov 7 at 11 am. 😂 I completed the AAPC coding prep course and it was very helpful as well as your videos! Thank you. I am lamenting the no whiteboard rule. I love using the whiteboard, and have trained on it for the past five months. I’m afraid the digital notebook thingy is going to slow me down. My biggest weakness right now is speed.
I am scheduled to take my CPC exam online next month and I tell you these practice exams I have been scoring not so good on. So I hope I do better on the actual exam.
I scheduled my exam yesterday, for Nov. 26th. I'm nervous lol but also excited. I've been wanting to do this ever since I found your channel. I've been studying and practicing like crazy and I'm gonna take a couple of practice tests. Hopefully, I pass!

Taking my CPC on Monday 3/13. I already feel nauseous because I’m SO nervous. I only bought a single voucher because I didn’t want my brain to slack & think I had another attempt at passing. I also graduate with an Associate’s in Medical Records Technology in August so I’ve been exclusively studying coding for over a year (I’ll have a CPC-A upon passing until I graduate). I’m so nervous! Deep down I’m confident, but the nerves really get you!
I just graduated online school and it was HORRIBLE. I DON'T learn like that and even though I passed, I don't feel like I learned much. I'm so scared to take any test. I paid all of that money for nothing. 😢
I took my AHIMA CCS exam and they allow a whiteboard with marker. Not having that on the CPC exam is not good. I used it extensively when I trained and when I took the CCS exam. AAPC needs to check that requirement.
I just started the Preppy training course! It's a little overwhelming since I have no medical background, but I think it's well structured. And I got a free Chromebook. Can't complain about that!

I understand your concern about the camera setup for the live remote-proctored exam. According to AAPC's guidelines, you do need to be watched via camera by allowing access to them through the Examity platform whole time. The proctor will be able to view you via the camera to ensure the integrity of the exam. Make sure your camera is positioned as outlined in the guidelines and is functioning properly prior to the test. For more details, you can refer to AAPC's requirements for live remote-proctored exams: www.aapc.com/support/electronic-exams/what-are-the-requirements-for-taking-a-live-remote-proctored-lrp-exam
For everyone that has passed congratulations! I have a question for anyone please 🙏🏾 I got my AS many years ago right when they were introducing ICD-10 so I took my exam with ICD-9 since it was the last year of it but I failed I didn’t try again and haven’t worked on it so now I decided why not go back but I don’t want to retake the course, how can I go for the exam without ICD-10 training or is there a training for that before I take iy
I am in the same boat. I completed my A.S. in Health Information Technology from a community college; it was the last year of ICD-9. I couldn't take the certification exam due to personal reasons at that time. Hence, looking for a shortcut to get my Coding certification now. I am sure we have to take an ICD-10 class/course from a college or the AHIMA/AAPC web courses in order to take a coding exam. If you (or anyone here) find out any useful information, please let me know. Thanks Edit: just checked Victoria's video on "MEDICAL CODING SELF STUDY OPTIONS" great information if you'd like to do a study on your own. Thank you, Victoria! your videos are very beneficial.
Hi Victoria, I want you to know that I love all your videos they are very informative and very helpful. I went and signed up for the CPC Test Prep course through AAPC. The reason I did that is because I am a member and I get all my books + E&M book practice exam and 2 test attempts were included in the total cost. I am doing the self paced course. I will keep you updated on my progress. Wish Me Luck!
also, there was no notepad on my exam and no highlighter feature. I was allowed to have a small whiteboard and had to show the proctor the front/back before and after the exam
I just finished my AAPC CRC course and passed that exam. I now need to schedule my big exam. I am so torn if I should schedule online or in person. I am super nervous about this final. I got an 89 on the course final. And advice since you have since you have done both?
Preppy sounds great! I just wish it was AAPC approved so that it would go towards the 80 education hours to take one year off of the two years of experience in order to remove the A from the CPC-A certification. 😢
Hello Victoria, I really need help in passing the CPC exam. I'm a pediatric medical biller but I want to upgrade. I've already taken the CPC exam once and failed it. This was last month. I don't need to take an intensive course just to pass the CPC exam. All I need is just to know how to answer the questions from the exam sections such as 10000 series, 30000 series, 40000 series etc. Or better yet, what are the best study materials or manuals to use? I know about the AAPC official CPC certification study guide but I thought that was crap.
Sorry to hear you were not successful on your last exam attempt. I have a video where I discuss my best tips for how to tackle your next attempt: ruclips.net/video/VT05L6X0iUo/видео.html I think you'll find it helpful. At this time, I am not offering individual assistance or tutoring.
Hi there, How is it to not have the ability to physically write down things? A live exam is not given anywhere in my area...so I have to take the on line..
In the video you shared from AAPC it said the internet speed requirement was at least 5 mbps, but on the system check through examity it says 1.5. So it's showing my computer is ok. Should I call AAPC?
Hi! I am preparing for my CPC exam. Quick question, my books are tabbed with marked tabs and I have a decent amount of notes throughout my books. Do you think this could cause a big issue? Thanks! Also to anyone who has taken the CPC and had notes in your books were you ok or did that cause issues?
"Handwritten notes are acceptable in the coding books only if they pertain to daily coding activities. Questions from the Study Guides, Practice Exams or the Exam itself are prohibited. Tabs may be inserted, taped, pasted, glued, or stapled in the manuals so long as the obvious intent of the tab is to earmark a page with words or numbers, not supplement information in the book. Altering, whiting out, painting, or printing over any pages within the code books (e.g., marketing pages, table of contents, reference pages, etc.) to supplement information is prohibited. No materials (other than tab dividers) may be inserted, taped, pasted, glued, or stapled in the manuals." Ref: www.aapc.com/certification/faq.aspx
Hi , your videos are very helpful I don't have no experience in healthcare but I'm very interested to take this opportunity to study . Which school I can get through this program? Online please?
I have a whole playlist to review for the CPC exam:ruclips.net/p/PLPHIVqUe1ntxbl8oEjN2tXbW5TElt0cg5 You can also get practice exams from the AAPC: www.aapc.com/training/practice-exams.aspx
Looking to change careers/fields. I was a certified personal trainer 10 years ago. I have been a restaurant manager for the past 15 years. I want to get into medical billing and coding. Is my only path to go CPC-A for 2 years before I can get a good paying job ($45,000+)

Thanks
Edit: just checked Victoria's video on "MEDICAL CODING SELF STUDY OPTIONS" great information if you'd like to do a study on your own. Thank you, Victoria! your videos are very beneficial.
I'm so interested in a coding career. Where do I purchase books and how to sign up for an online classes?
Hi Victoria, I want you to know that I love all your videos they are very informative and very helpful. I went and signed up for the CPC Test Prep course through AAPC. The reason I did that is because I am a member and I get all my books + E&M book practice exam and 2 test attempts were included in the total cost. I am doing the self paced course. I will keep you updated on my progress. Wish Me Luck!
also, there was no notepad on my exam and no highlighter feature. I was allowed to have a small whiteboard and had to show the proctor the front/back before and after the exam
Does your class essentially replace the AAPC class? During the class, do you share the notes that get written in thr coding books? Thanks!
It prepares for the CPC exam. If you have specific questions regarding the program, please contact help@preppy.org
I just finished my AAPC CRC course and passed that exam. I now need to schedule my big exam. I am so torn if I should schedule online or in person. I am super nervous about this final. I got an 89 on the course final. And advice since you have since you have done both?
FYI, even VPN has to be shut off during the exam. It is considered an application and not a security feature at the time of exam.
Preppy sounds great! I just wish it was AAPC approved so that it would go towards the 80 education hours to take one year off of the two years of experience in order to remove the A from the CPC-A certification. 😢
It can take a year off your internship. It doesn't need to be an "approved" program for the year off.
Thank you it’s very informative
Hello Victoria,
I really need help in passing the CPC exam.
I have a video where I discuss my best tips for how to tackle your next attempt:
ruclips.net/video/VT05L6X0iUo/видео.html
I think you'll find it helpful. At this time, I am not offering individual assistance or tutoring.
Congrats!!
Hi Victoria does the Webcam comes with the USB cable or i have to get a separate one?
Comes with the cable.
Which icd 10 cm book u used during exam ?
And which books are allowed?
I am taking your master class !
Hi there,
How is it to not have the ability to physically write down things? A live exam is not given anywhere in my area...so I have to take the on line..
Victoria, are you allowed to use your ebooks for the online exam or do you need the physical books?
Physical books.
I took your masterclass but I really need to speak about campusEd. And the guidelines
Are you doing a best "best coding books for 2023"? Just curious.

Which EM audit tool would you recommend?
Does anyone know if we can type words on the exam’s notepad…or can we only draw on it?
I’m planning to practice with a similar one to get used to it.
Hi I wanted to know about the task manager. You were saying they just want it open to see if any applications running?
Yes, they will monitor to make sure you are not running ANY other applications. You also cannot have any secondary monitors plugged in.
Ok and thanks
I am almost done with my associates degree in medical billing and coding and I’m so scared to take my AAPC
Hey did you end up taking the cpc?
Do you have any study tips for the CEDC exam?
Do you get a restroom break during online proctored exams?
Hi, I am a CPC-A and I was offered a job as a AR Clerk is that a good opportunity to get my feet in the door as a coder are not?
Thank you!
Is highlighting an option to use on the online CPC exam?
If you're referring to highlighting in your coding manuals, you are permitted to highlight your code manuals.
In the video you shared from AAPC it said the internet speed requirement was at least 5 mbps, but on the system check through examity it says 1.5. So it's showing my computer is ok. Should I call AAPC?
You would have to verify with AAPC -- I cannot provide the definitive answer.
I didn't pass my first in person so I just requested a transfer to online version .
No materials (other than tab dividers) may be inserted, taped, pasted, glued, or stapled in the manuals."

Hi , your videos are very helpful I don't have no experience in healthcare but I'm very interested to take this opportunity to study . Which school I can get through this program? Online please?
Definitely Preppy -- you can find out more about them at medicalcodingmasterclass.com
I would NOT rather use the computer.
Thank you for the info.

Can a person get a job in medical coding if they have a (non felony) criminal record?
It depends entirely on the individual employer and what they permit.
What's KODL?
It’s KODE- it’s a website for coding on demand jobs
Looking to change careers/fields.
I was a certified personal trainer 10 years ago.
I have been a restaurant manager for the past 15 years.
I want to get into medical billing and coding.
Is my only path to go CPC-A for 2 years before I can get a good paying job ($45,000+)
There are ways to get the apprentice status with the CPC-A removed and I detail that in this video: ruclips.net/video/O5s1pHgkVGM/видео.html
Anyone works in GA?
