  • Adding these tiny droplets is one of my favorite ways to add a simple adornment to my work and can be quite easy to make and apply.
This also works for karat gold as well!
You can use 10k, 14k, 18k or 22k gold and do exactly the same thing in order to create beautiful mixed metal works of art.
No special tools needed for this class.
It should be noted that this technique is similar to the granulation technique, but not exactly the same. Granulation typically uses smaller droplets and I plan to cover in a future advanced class.

Great explanation. Can I ask how long long items go in the pickle for? I know that you say a couple of hours but are there specific times?

It's going to depend on the size of the piece, and if it incurred any fire scale. To remove fire scale can indeed take several hours. But for a small piece, I often just do 10 to 15 minutes. Especially If I plan on soldering it again.

Doing it the way you did can only be done with a very small amount of silver beads.... What if you make a lot of silver beads! Thank you

Not sure, how many is "A lot"? my main focus is on smaller projects but not so much on production.
