I literally always thought that the lyric was "It's dark, hold on to your face!" And, for years, me and my friend still to this day have a good laugh about that from time to time.
Omfg. My sister and I have had that as an inside joke for fucking YEARS. Ever since we got that demo disc for PS1 for Twisted Metal... We still to this day say 'HOLD ON TO YOUR FACE!'. You made my day, man.
It's a strange and surreal feeling when I cycle through/rediscover music I've enjoyed over the years. Whether because for a time I felt ashamed for a time to enjoy something, or because I hadn't yet realized how much an old song meant to me. This one is kind of both for me due to how the dedicated Twisted Metal community viewed 4, I felt like I had to share their opinion on the game back then. But now I'm in my 30s and am better at enjoying the things I love unapologetically. Twisted Metal 4 had a great soundtrack, and was a great game, no matter what people tell me. This particular song just sticks out so much as iconic to me, and it has a vibe/sound that's very unique not just in Twisted Metal 4's soundtrack, but in general.
Every time this song came on in Test Drive 6 it always felt like I was racing for my life, this was it, there's no turning back, the engines rev, the countdown starts, you hear the word go, your foot's to the floor and the race began... And memories were made.
@@arcticwolf8150 Test Drive 6 is on of the best racing games I ever played and I loved it because of it's odd nature, the physics while broken at times also added to the fun. Car crashing into each other and flying like pinballs, the really weird looking car models and the overall gameplay made it one of my favorites both when I was kid and now as an adult. It's certainly on my top 10 for racing games at least for me.
Probably the most markeable intro that i listened in my life. Thanks Cirrus you make my childhood much better with your many song over many games in the epoch.
@@BoosterDuck9 game was amazing for 1999 at least for me, 80% of people love tm2 don't know why and they are hating tm4 for no reason is the best of the whole series
Because Sweet Tooth boss encounter is cheap and unbalanced, even for boss standard. Sweet Tooth in Twisted Metal Black is the best, and Head On came close in second
@@HonestFarmerLigue1Fan It is certainly cheap but to beat it you as well need to be equally as cheap. The game makes you use the territory to strategize a way to defeat enemies throughout and that last fight is no exception. You need to get a bunch of proximity mines and blow only 1 entrance into the rollercoaster area then lay each prox mine down the area and as Sweettooth comes for you up in the room leading to the coaster tracks he will hit like 9 mines, at the top of the ramp leading to that room you then have remotes and freezemotes. Unload on him after that initial freeze and remote then you have 2 more freezes on your gauge and you can keep unloading. He should be dead by then. 1 on 1 brawl against him though? Yeah not gonna be fair or wise.
TM4 vibes right here! Everytime I listen to this while driving through the streets at night definitely fits the vibe! The orchestra though especially the violins at the beginning go hard on this!
When I was a kid playing TM4 I always heard him saying: “From the outhouse, to the steakhouse, to the courthouse, to the flight house it’s momen time.” Hahahaha
This song has always been a favorite and even more so now that I realized it's true meaning. This song is about the Bible story of The Death of Lazarus.
Church Get ready From slave ship It's morning time The championship It's morning time From the outhouse To the state house To the court house To the whitehouse It's morning time It's dark Hold on to your faith Lazarus got up out the grave It's dark Hold on to your faith If I perish Let me perish I fear no evil It's dark Hold on to your faith Lazarus got up out the grave From slave ship The championship From the outhouse To the state house To the court house To the white house It's morning time Ya thou I walk Through the valley And shadow of death Everyday of my life I fear no evil
Twisted Metal 3 and Test Drive 5, the predecessors to both games, also both included music from "Pitchshifter." Idk when either of those games released relative to each other.
So, funny story about this song and a recent meme: When I played the Twisted Metal 4 demo in a PlayStation Underground sample pack, I would listen to the song while playing it (obviously). But there was one thing that wasn't clear to me: in the part of the lyrics where he says, "It's Morning Time," I swear to God, I thought he said, "It's Morbin' Time," which totally did not make any sense, and I would ask, "The hell does that mean?" But I put it aside and enjoyed the game along with the music. Few decades later, the movie Morbius came out and it recieved God-awful reviews. But it was thriving in meme culture with the very same phrase that I mistook lyrics from an old demo i used to play, "It's Morbin Time!" And so, because of that meme, i have long searched and finally found this song after so many years. Now I cannot NOT think about Morbius memes while listening to this and I just find it kind of hilarious. But I do enjoy it. And I'm pretty grateful those memes brought me back to it. Thanks for the upload. :)
