as a greatsword semi-main and veteran of complicated combo games, (though still silver yet relatively new) i find some minor inconsistencies related to the uses and moves so i will basically go over the moves and their uses to maybe explain what i have learned so far. though you can continue your greatsword career with this video alone, knowing uses can be a nightmare for your opponent. - dash canceling isn't necessary if you can chase dodge into attacks right away - i will mention that slight finisher and slight repeater aren't the same. GC activates the repeater variant - air attacks can continue the combo sequence with ground attacks Openers: - Nlight is a good quick attack especially for if you want to make a greatsword combo while your enemy is in the air (though unreliable in some cases) - Slight is just as reliable as explained. even more reliable since there are no bad bridges from there - Dlight is actually really good if you feel unsafe while the enemy is approaching you in the ground. only useless if the enemy is jump-y - nair is good in the video, but usually doesn't get many follow-ups in most scenarios. - sair and dair are really good starting combos. just make sure you are not giving away advantage to your opponent by allowing them to escape because you hit sair and couldn't reach. Bridges (and good followups): - you can make an infinite string by chaining combos of different openers using dodge canceling or chase dodging. especially good for gamemodes where you can go offstage grounded - Nlight is fine. there are better options but is usually better when you started with Dlight - Slight has the least uses but it can be very strong if utilized correctly. such as making infinite combos by chaining separate strings - Dlight is very much the best bridge. though your options for an infinite combo are limited to dash jumping to dair Finishers (not repeaters): - Nlight (and its repeater counterpart) is really good for sending opponents high. though the others aren't useless - Dlight is not that good. yet not bad either. you can chain combos like -sd to catch your opponent off-guard once they try jumping - Slight is excellent for sending your opponents farther horizontally. while may not be useful from the start. combinations of throws and GPs make this a viable finisher. Repeaters: - Dlight is also excellent for the same reason Slight finisher is good. it's just that Slight is a better version with more force and damage. - Nlight remains the same as its finisher counterpart except that it has a slightly bigger hitbox. try to use it to your advantage when your opponent is severely damaged and is trying to attack from above
Dlight finisher also has a hitbox behind your character so if an opponent is constantly dodging through you, you can hit them with a dlight finisher and usually gain stage control.
Am I mistaken or is greatsword the only weapon that has that starter into bridge thing where the kind of the bridge is depending on which starter you use? I feel like greatsword works very different than all other weapons in general
The answer is magyar is asssssss, but the trick is to use your movement, artemis has got to be the hardest legend to punish but try and come from above by jumping twice when they move towards you, another thing with sig spammers when you get to higher elos, like plat or even some in diamond is if they ever run away and you have to chase they are going to throw a sig to hit you while you are chasing but basically use your movement to bait and come from above artemis or predict what they are gonna do basically Side of them means they will side sig, above them means they will neutral sig and below them means they will down sig
I really like how you condensed the video and cut out all the pointless information, thank you so much! I'm subscribing
Calling Magyar easy to learn is crazy
Well he has greatsword and hammer so it’s not that hard but the only problem is that it’s a very slow legend
How is this one 5 min video more useful to me than just about anything else I’ve found? Good shit man

Still silver
invalidates everything else
Very precise and i liked the honesty about what you should actually be doing with greatsword.
I hope magyar can get a buff, considering there are just genuinely better legends. Since what made magyar original is kinda obsolete
