Sir dry unit weight is the unit weight of soil in dry condition which means that voids are completely filled with air and not with water. Then why is maximum dry density achieved at OMC? because if moisture comes into picture then how is it dry unit weight?

How to solve this A 180cm3soil weighed 315g when moist after oven drying, its weight was reduced by 42g. assuming that Vs/Vt= 0.50.
