@S9RUT ye, but all that stuff is old, just tweaked/ upgraded. Stealth trannys have been around since day one. The original ifs was awful. It ended up being discontinued, and now they tweaked it for round 2. I don't dislike element. There's just nothing to really go on about . Compared to vanquish, for example, what they offer now at their low price and what redcat has done with the ascent fusion, leaps, and bounds beyond element and the others in my op and price point.
Cannot agree more about the Machete. Buddy brought the 6s to our last meet and man that truck is a beast. It was flipping and flying better than my Talion and everyone's 6s arrmas. VERY impressive truck for the price, gonna get one with my Christmas bonus lmao
Forget the fragile XRT. Get the new Arrma Kraton 8s EXB RTR. It’s insane! Its indestructible! It’s powerful! Its handling is sick! My buddy had an XRT and ERevo and he now think they are dog dodo next to my Kraton
Man I rarely disagree but the Zuul, which is of course the Ecto with more scale needed a nod. The Ecto is still a top 5 rtr. And I would've given it to the Big Rock 6s for a real 2023 vehicle and the Team Corally Kagama is phenomenal! But those 3 and the new Kraton 6s EXB deserved a nod. Only because we're talking 2023. Still, love your stuff Joe and appreciated your night content this year. Merry Christmas man! (No Baja Rey 2.0 or Miller Motorsports? That was the steal of the year! $499 for ALL THAT!!! RC4WD)
I can NOT keep bulkheads in my widemaxx v2. I've changed 2 in the front and one in the rear. I don't even jump mine 😂 Just the right kind of cartwheel in grass does the trick.
Nice review and spot on! I recently got the VRD and just finished assy a couple days ago….i had a fusion pro in mind for it but during assy of the trans after the motor was installed, the first part of the trans housing wouldn’t bolt up…the pro was too long…by about 1/8”. ..so I went with the SE and it left about 1/16” space …works perfect and performs well but really wanted the pro in this build …
@@ExocagedRC I know…I thought it was odd. I’ve used the Pro in the past on many rigs.. I know you used a pro on your VRD with no issues… This one I had plans to install is an early Pro I’ve had for a while….maybe the older ones are longer for some reason?
@@ExocagedRC I’d like to add I’m not a noob at RC building or the hobby in general ….this VRD is my 6th vanquish product and my 3rd vanquish build…I think to date I have 23 crawlers and roughly close to 50 RCs in general …..I know you have more and I probably would have more but have to sell some because of space….lol
Pretty good picks I would’ve included the Mojave 4s but it’s nice to see Redcat get it’s dues the Ascent is awesome I’ve gone the route of go nuts on mine & it’s upgraded like crazy & I love that Rock Pirates made shock towers already I have the red ones.
Good list, some interesting picks. Everyone has their own idea of whats best so, can't wait to see the comments, lol! Funny thing about the Losi MX, just doesn't interest me (and I raced MX!). Too many limitations and doesn't handle anything like the real thing.
Gotta say on the basher list that I'd leave Traxxas off and put the 4s Mojave, 6s Bigrock, and the new 4s Outcast/Kraton twins. The Traxxas Trio is great but aside from the XRT they're old news. Traxxas has released nothing for the basher crowd this year. I can't reward them for resting comfortably. Especially when a Slash ultimate cost what it does and still thermals on 3s after 2 minutes. They have lots of room for improvement but aren't.
They are still top performers and I see them here every weekend. To me the Mojave isn’t a basher. The outcast is but the Kraton isn’t, granted the XRT can be considered not a basher but it has all the Xmaxx stuff in it. These were vehicles that I have had/owned.
I don't care for new axial transmission, and ill never buy a redcat crawler, and i have enough 10ii based rigs. My g spd will hang with a pro , now that vrd does look interesting... vanquish for the win.
Great video! However it’s clear you are a Traxxas fan and have little experience with Arrma vehicles. The Arrma counterparts to the Traxxas vehicles are much stronger and break less. I’ve compared on videos from extreme bashers and in my own personal experience the Traxxas vehicles break every time we go out and my Arrmas rarely break, and I’m doing way more crazy and wreck less jumps and maneuvers
@ExocagedRC oh ok, I'll have to give it a fair shot then, I assumed it was more toyish not so much hobby grade from the looks of it. I should know better tho, Arrma always makes tough trucks. Thanks
Be careful with redcat. Per local hobby town and hobby shop all parts must be special ordered and zero redcat parts in stock. Nothing beats traxxas and axial for parts.
If the list had more Element and Arrma, I would definitely agree!
Arrma got the top spot. In retrospect I feel the Ecto should have been on there as well.
Elements are all the same w/ a tweak or different bodys, nothing new for years now from them.
@@ConditionZero76 IFS, IFS 2, GKS, Stealth XF, to list a few 👍

Thank you! My LHS has had 1 I look at each time I go in there.
The Machete is very under rated.
Top 5 had to be tough, so many greats to pick from, but these fit their bill!
I want a XRT. Been eyeing a 1/5 scale for about a year now. I just think the XRT is what im lookin for

I can only comment on the vehicles I have owned this year. The Ecto is a lm awesome truck no doubt and I recommend it to people all the time.

Well you can Vitavon it out. I drive like like I hate it. Vitavon isn’t cheap, but then again it’s not cheaply made either.

I agree with your pics with crawlers except the redcat maybe if someone gave me one but I would never buy one
what brushless system did you put in the gorgon?
I enjoy your thoughts on these vehicles. I’m in the fence right now on the losi pro moto. Seems like something different and cool to have.
It sure is.
Just get it, seriously awesome! It takes a minute to get the hang of it. Especially getting it to turn.
Gorgon, really?
I'm honestly shocked! 👍🤪
No. The Gorgon is an absolutely beast in a small size. Love that truck way more than I expected to.

What about the vanquish Phoenix?
What about buggy style basher?
