Not far from there is a giant sinkhole with a cool little cave in it and a big natural bridge. Last time I was there I wasn't doing youtube yet so I wanna get back there again soon and film it. Great video
Very cool! We drove south the next morning there was a spring we drove over or near. Maybe close to an old school hose? You should do a video on the cave and bridge! Thanks for watching!
I'm 77 and was born/raised in Devils Elbow. When I was eight, I found a dead body floating in the Little Piney river just upstream about 200 yards from the bridge you crossed. I've walked across that trestle many times as a "shortcut" to a very large cave that is located in that mountain. My grandfather's last name was Thomas and some of his relatives are buried in the Mayfield Cemetery, and we visited it at least once a year before the copperhead snakes came out of hibernation. When you were parked by the old Route 66 bridge, the building(s) behind you was a bar/cafe/boat rental business owned by Paul Thompson. The post master in DE was Jiggs Miller who was semi-famous for appearing in Congress to testify against a USPS effort to close the post office in the general store in Devils Elbow. I know every inch of that entire valley.
That's incredible!I love hearing about this History of places. I've been to that area a hand full of times. Mostly looking for legal off road trails to explore. Is the cave on private property? That sounds like a fun adventure. Do you recall the witch story to be true and her reasoning for being exiled?
The timing of this is about right. I took some friends out there to see the witch's grave and drove past it to turn around (this was at night), and came across a bunch of people and their vehicles camping out. I think it may have been you guys!
Awesome video & the beginning of the video reminded me of the old TV show Emergency. That old spooky history stuff is cool but sometimes it really messes with my head. Earlier this year while on my way to Death Valley from the west I was checking out a possible boondocking area that just gave me a really spooky vibe as I was walking around, I couldn't get out of there soon enough & went to another location. As always, thank you for sharing.
So, you and Baker tipped me off to an interesting story. I recently filmed a video out there and walked through the Mayfield Cemetery, after passing Elisa’s grave. I didn’t think twice about it. Now, I’m heading back out to give it a second look. BTW, I’m south of Leonard Wood, if you’re interested in wheeling together.
Dude that's awesome! Some of that looks familiar but I can't quite put my finger on it 😉I love finding little known places like that. I'm hoping to get out of the house this weekend here in NM and do some overlanding and fly fishing.
LOL The place I shared with you guys was super overgrown. Hope everything is good and you both are well. I really need to come see y'all in NM. That's been on my list for too long. Thanks for watching!

Great video, Benji! 🙌🏼
Thanks! Lotta fun!
So good! Glad we could get out again!
For sure! When's the next one?
Nice video dude. Love the history, especially the bridge. I'm gonna have to grab some of that bacon from Aldi's.
Do it! That's the stuff we had on the river. I'll show the bridge one day for sure. It's not too far from me. Thanks for watching man!

Nice video have you all been to crybaby Hollar?
I’ve been to a cry baby holler outside of Crocker. Is that the one you’re speaking of?
7:20 so yeah I’ll never be camping in Missouri
haha There was an excessive amount of bugs there that night! 😝
As a local to the area, I've never heard of any sasquatch sightings. I have been witness to some other freaky stuff though.
11:51 LOL. Well then you're done!! Classic line!
You folks need a Gladiator to round out the group. Just sayin'!

Glad one of them Samsquanch’s didn’t get y’all.
