I think she meant to say that her mom was trying to live a life of a good person by prayer and faith in God. Which is really all we can do if we have no way to change our circumstances. We could also be angry or broken, but faith saves us from that. Ultimately loosing your hope and sweetness is more damaging to the soul than the terrible hardships we may be going through. It is wisdom to know God and believe, if even it does not seem that deliverance comes for a long time. This is a most beautiful story. It can give us hope and wisdom.
