Chrysalis: Short film (SAE University College)

We follow the story of Alice, a girl in her late teenage years who lives in an isolated bushland in Kakadu with her supportive, loving but distant father. Faced with the reality of growing up, she is asked to think about the larger world and where she fits in from there. Upset and distressed Alice regresses into a fantasy land she created as a child to escape from the hardships and decisions surrounding her future. Through her journey, she uses the wisdom of her younger self to move forward into the next stage of her life. Alice comes to the realization that she doesn't need to leave her childhood behind to mature, grow and learn.
I am beyond ecstatic that all this hard work has finally paid off.The skills, lessons and memories I've gained with this project will be forever valuable. I am deeply thankful to the incredible people I’ve had the privilege of working with along the way. From the cast and crew, everyone brought their unique talents and passion to the table. Their dedication, collaboration and unwavering support made all the difference in bringing this film to life.
