NYE 2015: Burj Khalifa & Downtown Dubai Light Up The Sky - Highlight Video!

- Dubai ushers in 2015 with world’s most-watched New Year’s Eve spectacle by Emaar and a Guinness World Records title. The ‘Largest LED-Illuminated Façade’ around Burj Khalifa was the centre of all glitz as it regaled the teeming spectators with one of the world’s brightest visual displays to date. Over 4.7 tonnes of fireworks were used for the fireworks display with 25,000 shots lighting up the sky!
I went to dubai for my vacations I must say it's breathtakingly awesome they put so much effort on it and plus it's worth it

Very spectacular display. It must have taken a huge effort to put on such a great show. However i wish that we as a people (all the people of earth) would put the same effort into being friends with one another. Forget fighting these wars that are just making a few people (that are clearly sick with the disease of greed) more and more mega-rich and powerful off of the blood of the little guy(s) of our world. Who cares that we all have differences. This is what makes our world so wonderful. We all don't look the same. And we all have our own thoughts. This place (Earth) sure would be boring if we all had the same look & personality. Please love our neighbors. Understand, that 99% of the people of this earth are peaceful; we should all be friendly to each-other.
My daughter's death from the 148th floor of the Burj Khalifa on 16 November 2014 was covered up by the government of Dubai, the Emaar Property Group and the Armani Hotel. Her name was Laura Vanessa Nunes. I asked myself why? Very simple actually. Almost two million people visit the At the Top Sky observation deck every year at 350 AED a ticket. That is why Laura's death was concealed. Simple arithmetic, and as you say in your comment, "Forget fighting these wars that are just making a few people (that are clearly sick with the disease of greed) more and more mega-rich and powerful off of the blood of the little guy(s) of our world." The war of capitalism and greed. So true!

Well I have to admit the excesses of capitalism can create some pretty amazing things from time to time. Dubai wrapped the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest skyscraper, with 70,000 panels of LEDs for New Year's Eve. The result was stunning.
AWESOME
According to Wikipedia, "Mesopotamia (Iraq) created the concept of new year celebration 2000 BC." I am not sure if it's accurate; I thought that this was a totally Western tradition (from out of Europe somewhere). But it makes perfect sense to see Dubai putting on such a spectacular show. It's in their blood. Who knows otherwise? All I know is that NYC gotta reclaim the title for having the BEST New Year's Eve Celebration on Earth!

Would it be possible to fall from the Sky Observation Deck on the 148th Floor. Are there sliding doors?
No, you will not fall. There is a sliding door which separates the inner rooms and the outer observatory but you will not fall as there are 6-7 foot tall glass windows protecting you.
manasvi kumar My daughter Laura Vanessa Nunes fell to her death from the Burj Khalifa At the Top Sky observation deck on the 16 November 2014. I went to Dubai from South Africa to be on the deck on the four month anniversary of her death - 16 March 2015 - and the day after went to the Bur Dubai Police Station to view the footage. She slipped through the gap between the panes of glass just above the handrail. After my daughter's tragic death the police requested the Burj Khalifa to make the gaps smaller. So yes it was possible and it happened. My daughter was a Portuguese national on a tourist visa.

cuz the second language spoken here mainly is english after arabic and even more than 90% of the population are immigrants so yeah english is necessary for us to communicate
