  • Sherbrooke Lake hike and Paget Peak scramble feature some of the most dramatic mountaintop views in British Columbia, beautiful lakes, and a thrilling scramble.
This is a multi-faceted hike that has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for an easy hike to an alpine lake, a moderate trek through the forest, or some serious mountain-style scrambling, the Paget Peak hike has you covered.
We started that hike by visiting Sherbrooke lake. The reflection of Ogden lake in the lake early in the morning makes that little detour totally worth it but if you don't have much time to complete your hike, then skip the lake as you will see it from above as well. After tackling the trail to Sherbrooke lake, we came back that intersection where you have the choice to go left for the lake or right to Paget peak and started our ascent to Paget Look out where we will explore that super cool fire lookout that was built in 1994. The Mount Paget Lookout is the oldest surviving fire lookout in the mountain national parks, which make it even more special. After visiting the lookout, we started the serious ascent to Paget peak, the trail starting right behind the fire lookout. The terrain throughout the Paget Peak scramble is more technical but not crazy if you are experience hiker/scrambler. There’s a massive and steep scree field which will definitely test your limits. The trail is not well marked so you pick your own adventure! Don't be fooled by the peak you see from the lookout cause it is not your destination. This is not even the false summit that you see from there! The peak is far behind that. Watch this video for lots of details on the trail, hope you enjoy!
