Looks great. I know it's NYC, but I looked at their menu and that's a $62 dollar meal for basically one person. Before tax and tip. So, $81 if you tip 20% (8.875% tax rate)
Edit : I didn't even count the skate kebob or dessert lol Just the 3 appys and fish and chips. People in the UK would be up in arms to see less than a handful of chips for $29
😂 I know it's crazy here but actually this restaurant is considered cheaper than the others because nowadays if you want to have a full meal in Manhattan usually after taxes and tips it will be well over $120+
@@Fufski Yeah, I live on Long Island and only go into the city like once a year. Usually to see a basketball game and for dinner...it's never a cheap adventure. The train ticket alone costs as much as those fish and chips lol
If you appreciate food, and how much effort and talent it goes into making a certain dish. The price of a dish wouldn’t really matter as long as you enjoy it.
This is a spot that I've been wanting to try. I'm glad to hear that it's pretty good. The sticky toffee pudding looked amazing!
It's pretty good stuff, worth a try!
Yo wtf is this production and review? This channel is underrated as fck. Keep up the amazing reviews and video production!!!
Thanks! Will do!
Yep. Found a gem of a channel.
@@Fufski I'm heading to nyc for 4 days..What other favorite restaurant worth going to?
@@giomusah2155 Jungsik, Crown Shy, Dhamaka, Semma, Don Angie, Casa Dani, Vestry, Zaab Zaab
@@Fufski Is le bernardin too old fashion for your taste? Are you living in NYC, that 's why u know so many restaurants in nYC?
nice video, I really like your lively descriptions of the food! This place feels very classy compared to the joints that usually serve fish and chips back in the UK :D
Thanks! Yes the vibe is cool. There are a lot of restaurants like this in NYC with cool vibes.
Okay - so the fish looks very good! Chips are a little thick for my taste and I’m not sure if I like the idea of a sweet tartare sauce, but I’d probably like it!
Glad to hear it's approved by a Brit!
its pronounced dame
this looks so good, but $29 for fish and chips 😬
Yes, it's very expensive 😂
For fish and 6 chips haha
It looks good, but, yeah, the prices are a bit steep. For what you paid for that meal, you could almost fly to London and get the real deal. BTW, you mispronounced a few things. Greenwich is not pronounced like green + witch, it's gren + itch. The 'u' in pudding is pronounced like the 'u' in put. You can search RUclips videos for both and hear them pronounced correctly.
I should probably try the real deal in London! Also thanks for pointing Greenwich out, I realized when someone else mentioned it in the comments.
Have you been to Traif? I find it to be one of the best and most affordable tasting menus in the city. Would recommend heavily. It's the original sister spot to Xixa. On a note, you can clarify that you don't want 2 dishes and you definitely want two others. I wouldn't recommend the red snapper much but the scallops are always outstanding. Their pasta also always tends to be just fine.
I haven't but I will add it to my list! I've been to Xixa before and it's of great value but idk how the inflation is playing out currently.
ive had better fish and chips at long john silvers
i doubt it
HA i stopped right when he pronounced Greenwhich wrong
Chips not fries. Thanks for the review.
Yeah chips. Thanks for watching!
