    Another explanation of an operating method for which many don't know the why or how. Great stuff Ape! Helpful. Useful.

      Thanks Kevin. When the Bovet Island stuff was going on it was apparent many folks didn’t have experience with operating split. I was talking to someone about it and the asked I do a video…. Thanks for checking it out 👍

    I realize that most repeaters shift down or up for transmit versus receive, but those are all fixed and I can program those to memory, so this explanation is really helpful for the live qso scenario when you have to modify your split on the fly! Great video, but now I want to buy a real radio!

      Hey DeWayne. You are correct this is mostly for operating on HF 👍

    The only time I seen it used... or not used properly was Bouvet.🤷‍♂️
    Lots of ham folks need to know how to do this.

      Hey Don. It was the Bouvet stuff that got me to thinking that some folks might have limited experience around operating split 👍

    Interesting video, Is this what you would use for 2m &70cm satellite repeaters? or would that be DUP?

    • @TheSmokinApe
      @TheSmokinApe 2 месяца назад

      It's typically used to HF, I think you would use DUP for the sats

      I suppose you could use it that way. I don't chase the birds, so my experience there is pretty limited. I thought folks would just use pre programmed memories.
