Pete Harder we have about 14 pulls a year. Balsem lake is the 1 pull that is blacktop

My goodness are the organisers of this event insane? This is an accident waiting to happen! You people are going to kill some innocent bystander! Probably a child or whole family! The available traction on asphalt would launch one of these tractors wildly out of control if a breakage occurred at the hitch point! This is absolutely terrifying to watch as that drag slides along out of control. Barriers people, barriers!!!! I love the tractors but this is very scary to watch. Motorsports of all kinds is dangerous and the safety of the spectators here is clearly not a concern.

Yes, a hitch breakage and a hookup could throw the driver right off backwards and the tractor would be GONE. Even a deadman's throttle won't help for the rocket launch you'd get on pavement with hot tires.
