Glad your Aunt is recovering. A worrying time I am sure. The tip by the 2nd David about pulling Governors out of high production worlds once they have been built up is brilliant. Love that idea. Really looking forward to you playing a big game on a challenging difficulty level utilising all the knowledge you have amassed during this great series.
Thank you so much for the kind thoughts. I agree that a big game is needed after the tutorial series. I fully expect to learn a lot of new facets of the game. When the time comes I'll ask for civilization build ideas in the comments and then the community can vote on their favorite.
@@redoover What is gained by demoting a core world back to a colony? You said the colony retains the improvements built while it was a core world. Does that also include its shipyard?
1:00:11 I can explain. You have a small ship with base 8HP and a 100% bonus for a total of 16HP. You added another 20% bonus which is applied to the base 8HP for an additional 1.6HP, not to the 16HP. So the base 8HP with 120% bonus becomes 17.6HP which the game rounds down to 17HP.
I would lower your taxes from medium to normal for the increase to moral. Moral directly impacts manufacturing, research, and maybe population growth (I have not yet play GalCiv4 but it did under GalCiv2/GalCiv3). You can sell "Open Borders" to the AI for credits and better relations. You can trade tech/resources/treaties/credits with the AI for other tech/resources/treaties/credits. You can boost your income by building freighters and sending them to AI worlds to establish trade routes. All of this is easier with the increases from higher moral.
@@redoover Then you will fall behind the AI on the harder difficulty levels. Diplomacy has always been an important part of the GalCiv series. I would disable Tech Brokering at game setup, as that is easily exploitable by the human player.
12:55 - how about making two different videos, one with the gameplay, the other with the webcam input, so we can use both videos on two different screens and get an even greater viewing experience? 🙂 (ok, just a little joke, I think the current place works pretty nicely)
Your family's health is far more important than a RUclips game channel. Your priorities are sound. I hope your aunt is doing well.
Make sure you place at least one combat ship in orbit of each of your core worlds so that you don't get the undefended moral penalty.

I haven’t dipped into the diplomacy at all yet. But I get what you’re saying about generating income.

Double the viewing pleasure! Great idea.
