Does the audio matrix work with all components, for example: pre -amps, amps, receivers and tapes all connected together?

Yes it will work. I am running four reel to reels deck and two cassette decks, the CD burner and the CD player all through my matrix 8x8 inputs and the output on the matrix back to my receiver input.

@@flytown9853 yes, your receiver will be a power source. Be sure to leave one output open on the output of the matrix to go to your receiver.
