Very easily. I regularly use a 5m snood on an urfe bar. The snood trails the lead, so you are only casting the lead. You can use the same drop from your rod tip to the lead as you would with any other rig.
I use the urfe rig for quite a range of species from flatfish like sole and flounders, to bass and giltheads in the estuaries. I also use it for light summer fishing for bream, gars etc.
@@antjohnson4236 actually it casts extremely well if the hooks and any pop ups are kept on the smaller size. It's surprising how well it does cast. The lack of components (swivels, beads etc) reduces the drag through the air.
Brilliant site , best rig vlogs going , really helpful and upto date , ty Tom
when adding more hooks i chop off the bottom tag so the hook length stands off better.
Great...just ordered it all. Can't wait to try it out 👍
Best of luck when you get out with it.
Thank you, very nicely explained.
Friday 22nd April 2022… it’s Urfe Day!
🤣🤣
With the rig being tied almost directly to the weight doesn't that mean no signs of a fish bite unless the fish is big enough to move the weight?
I tend to use this in calmer weather so rarely go above 60-90g, but have used 120g with success.
Can we buy this in the shop?
Yes, well sell the urfe bars in the shop.
How are you suppose to cast 14ft snood lol

What species is the urfe rig best suited to fishing for?

@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 can it be used with pop ups on if targeting gars?
Yes absolutely. I usually just use a pop up on the end hook and leave the droppers "naked".
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 i was thinking this myself, I take it due to such a long snood this rig isnt designed for fishing at range?
