I've been vermicomposting for 28 years now. Had the local newspaper at my home for a story on doing this. I showed the photog a little worm egg, or "pearl", and as she's focusing for the shot, the little baby worm comes poking out! She thought I was silly for shedding a tear. I'd never seen one born before.
Aww I think that's sweet hun. The lady who donated me my first worms is sweet on them too. To be honest, I'm already sweet on them as well. 😆 They're still animals and we still care for them. 💜
I just started vermiposting about 2 months ago and found my first cocoon. I know there was some prior cause I have noticed lil baby worms in my bins just haven't found an actual cocoon till today
Fantastic video. I've seen so many worms hatch from their cocoons in my systems but I have yet to manage to capture any usable footage. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing 😊👍
I have a couple hundred cocoons in a small bin with coir. What are the optimal conditions for them to hatch? Wetter? Warmer? Food? Any help you can offer? Thanks!
Sometimes I see some small larve size wigglers in my bin. I'm having trouble verifying if its a baby worm that hatched or fungus gnat larve. Would you say these worms that hatch can look like small gnat larve?
what if someone used the sea cucumber chromosomes and the insatiable bullfrog chromosomes to fill in the gaps of every single earthworms genomes and then put them into our planet earth's soils
I know they are one of the most important things on the planet, but I still hate them. Millipedes and Centipedes I am fine with. Worms no. I think it is because they don’t move normal and they don’t have eyes.

They are quite happy with cardboard and paper as food

I might be weird but am I the only one who thinks their cute?
Nasty.
They're cute.
*They're, in this case, rather than 'their'.
And yes, they are.
No. I think they're cute too.

I agree, it's a great video.
I've never attempted to film them hatching myself.
What are the difficulties you've had trying to capture usable footage?
Somebody had a lot of time on their hands.
This is not what I ment when I searched worm on a string but I shall give a like anyway
"You didn't see it coming?" ooga booga
Me n these worms share a birthday
Love this, thanks.
That’s pretty cool
That’s wild! I just found my first cocoon in my worm bed.
oh to be a baby worm
I hate worms so much; yet I’m so intrigued by them. I’m such a weirdo lol
Yes
hate them but know you need to love them
We're all weirdos at some point
I wonder what those two are up to these days.
This is so cool.😎
wow...amazing video!
QUESTION ; How do I get my red wigglers to make the egg sacks ?
They will naturally reproduce. You can spot the eggs inside your dirt medium if you look closely.
@@TexasOrganicGardening Looking forward to it as it is going on a year and it has not happens yet .
worm skin does not enjoy the light, probably does not want to leave cover
The early worm evades the bird.
You mean the late worm.
This video is soooo good
Earth warm Sally
Brings a year to my eye.
Early worm gets eaten by the bird.

It can take a few months depending on the temperature. My worms laid eggs in January - March and only now I'm getting hatchlings
Are...those.....GRAPES?!?!!?!
Worm eggs, zoomed in
Why are they cocoons and not eggs?
They are actually little round eggs
This doesn’t even show them coming out

they are miniauture replicas only white, the other creepies you are talking about are springtails
@@phillipaclark1832 wait are baby worms white or are fungus gnat larvae white?
Nice!! With what type of light did you record the video? Cause I used a flashlight and I think that made worms stay inside the egg😫😫😫
wormies :3
I was scared

Interesting. Then I got a bit bored.......
