    The LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robot soap dispenser and faucet are built from Technic and MINDSTORMS® EV3 parts. Sensors detect the hands to dispense soap and turn on the faucets, and a sensor

    I like how the temperature system was done; really smart way to keep the machine interactive instead of just pressing the buttons on the EV3.

    • @BrickMachines1
      @BrickMachines1  2 года назад +1

      Thank you so much! I felt it was key to keep the temperature part touchless as well since the faucet and soap dispenser were also that way. It's so funny, I didn't think the temperature system was the best part of the build, but that's the thing the most people have said they like!

      @@BrickMachines1 Well, definitely creative, and works! What did you think the best part was?

    • @BrickMachines1
      @BrickMachines1  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! Yeah I see the temperature system in a new light now, so that's cool! Thanks for that! I originally thought the handles were the best part, but that was because it was tricky to actuate them since I didn't want the motors right above the handles to keep a clean build but needed the rotation axis right above them. A couple gears fixed that, and gave the motors more torque to turn the handles in the process.

    This is super creative! The timer feature and temperature adjustement is incredible!

      Thank you so much! I'd say those were the two most difficult parts, but they turned out pretty well!

    I need one of these this is amazing also you should add a case on the outside to make it look better and to keep the inside from getting wet

    • @newtybot
      @newtybot 2 года назад +2

      @@BrickMachines1 temp setting obviously
      It’s got the most effort behind it

    • @BrickMachines1
      @BrickMachines1  2 года назад +3

      Haha thanks! You're right, that part is the trickiest, at least for the programming.

    • @newtybot
      @newtybot 2 года назад +1

      @@BrickMachines1 exactly what I respect! Engineering mechanics is cool and all but when it comes to programming it’s in a class of its own
      I’m really good at eyeballing mechanisms, haven’t measured much in the last 30 years tbh. But I can never just “guess” when it comes to data like coding and programming. I’m still good at it Ofc, but I can’t just get by with luck and hope 😭
      So yeah, I respect the programming aspect of “how much to turn knob on hot and cold” a lot more than the “make piston go down”

    • @BrickMachines1
      @BrickMachines1  2 года назад +2

      Yeah haha the piston part isn't too interesting! That's funny, I feel almost exactly the opposite, where the programming is my strongest suit and the mechanics sometimes take a little longer to make happen. Sounds like we'd probably make a pretty good team!

    if i were you, i'd move the selection sensor to its side instead of up and down because what if u still have water on your hand after the first step? it would just drip on the sensor since three seconds are enough to cover a pair of hands in water

    My son and love your videos. Generally we prefer the ones where you voice narrate with your voice throughout the video. Would also love to see more of you than your hands!

      Thanks! I hope that those motors have started to work for your son! I have been so busy and haven't gotten back to your other comment yet about which battery boxes go with which motors.

      @Brick Machines ok. I understand you are busy. The battery I bought doesn't fit either motor I have. Happy new year.
