  • In this video, Umar Ashraf goes over how to make more money when trading stocks and options. One question that a lot of new traders have is "How do I scale up my position sizes?" So here he breaks down scaling (when day trading & using risk management) in a way that is easy to understand whether you are a beginner, intermediate or expert trader. Trading can be tough sometimes, (especially when dealing with big numbers) so this strategy can be used to progressively scale up at a pace that is less risky and hopefully help you make millions of dollars on your journey to financial freedom :D

    So add to the position is like a second entry. If you add at price 1000 and you want to have a 20 points move , the market has to go to 1000 to 1020 . So for a adding you have to be confident the market will reach your profit target because if it fails you got a small move

    Hey when you size down on an option. Do you buy different contracts ? Or you go on the same contract and size down ? I made my first option trade today and ended up buying a separate contract for the same stock. Just curious. Thank you.

    First THANK YOU SO MUCH. IT WAS REALLY HELPFUL. I Would be happier if you help me with this ?
    - How do you manage to trade equal position size with equal risk-per-trade everytime while trading with margin ?
    - for example, if you lost your first 2 trades, then you have less purchasing power so even if you hit target in 3rd and 4th attempt with say 1:1 risk-reward, you are still in loss whereas you should be at your breakeven according to risk-reward. How to deal with this problem ?

    Umar I need some advice. Im an option trader primarily playing SPY. When setting stop losses, is it recommended to go by underlying price or loss on contract price? Im noticing on my losses, they are getting quite uncontrollable because I am basing them off of the underlying. However, if I try to base my SLs off of contract price, I tend to get stopped out more often before the move goes in my favor. What is your advice on this? Not a lot of people talk about risk management on options, and just primarily on stocks. Thanks!

    • @BrandonSochacki
      @BrandonSochacki 3 года назад

      Just my 2 cents - I use a SL based off technical levels of the underlying. If your losses become too big when basing your SL on the underlying you may need to size down or make your SL tighter

    • @Jimmy-sj8pi
      @Jimmy-sj8pi 3 года назад

      @@BrandonSochacki thanks for the reply. however if I make my SL tighter, what does this mean? If a technical level is 2 dollars below my entry for a stop, should i just make it .50? Wouldn't that be bad?
