I got a band saw and decided to make some wooden birds. It's super relaxing so probably going to do some more of them in the future.

My grandfather was a boatbuilder and carpenter, so he produced duck decoys [for hunting] during the early-mid 1900s. His working decoys now fetch ~ $20,000 US at auction, so realistic quality is certainly rewarded and his legacy will live on.

Very interesting, as a kid I tried to carve a swan out of a bar of soap but I wasn't very good at it. You do amazing work.

The gouged bird on the branch I like better. Great job, from Canada. I would love to see a video reviewing your first cabin built: what went right, wrong, and how the cabin is settling. Thanks.

Bandsaw is an awesome tool to have. I like the one with the gouge work.

Nice work... "Two birds with one stone" as the English saying goes, maybe with an axe and a gouge this time! If you were to go into production, I would be tempted to try twisted wire for legs and claws!

I was thinking wire legs but in this size I think these looks better. It's difficult to get them perfectly angled though.
