I went there before with a couple friends, but it was private property. We made it to about the 4th ring, then cops showed up and we had to run. Literally the scariest part.
@@ODDySEEy we joked the whole way that’s what we thought was going to happen 😅 Instead it almost ended in a hefty fine. Although, the forest was very eerie. We did it close to nighttime.
I recall first hearing about this in high school in the early 2000's, which made me chuckle when you mentioned it.... After watching your video and seeing the original path of the "Toad Road", makes me wonder if it wasn't just called "Tow Road" as in the road used for the Tow Path of the canal that used to be there. There are remains of the old canal down that way, but that's about it. Driven by many times. Thanks!
See... I like those types of comments. To know it makes you think for a minute. Would also possibly lead to there maybe being something bad that really DID happen down that way... I mean, nobody erases a road, do they? They usually just "move" it over a little... but why erase it, especially if someone once lived along it and it also had commercial property value (such as the canal).
Thanks for a great video, could you please make a video about the gates to hell in Downingtown PA? I grew up a few towns from there and I want to learn more.
Great job as always Scott!!!! Living relatively close, I've heard about this. I was always curious what the real story was. Thanks again and keep up the great work!!!
Late '80s early 90's seems to be when it was most popular. I think that coincides with all the grade B horror movies that were extremely popular during that time.
First video I've seen of yours and I remember this when briefly living in PA. Didn't know too much detail and had a curiosity. Glad I found this! Nice hat.
Another great one Scott!! Kinda reminded me of the “terrifying and demonically cursed” story of Dudleytown, CT, and the Dark Entry Forest. Which just amounts to a property group who got tired of trespassers wrecking the place and having field parties.
Dudleytown... what a great story. It is obviously connected to the Headless Horseman story due to Mr. Dudley's beheading and also would seem to have connections to the first Evil Dead movie with a "book" and a cabin in the woods.
@@ODDySEEy I thought so as well!! Every time now, when I hear the urban legend type reports about the place, I immediately hear your voice in my head, saying: “Well, not exactly..”. 😉
I live between Range rd and Trout Run rd. I often go down both roads. It used to feel creepier in the 1980's. Now it's been made to look alot nicer now
@ODDySEEy well that area between Trout Run and Range Rd. Don't go directly past the furnace it's kind of its own enclosed loop. It's basically directly behind the mobile home park I live in. They farm back there out up a nice fence years ago and planted trees. It really beautified it back there.
@Billsmafia716--------- There are no gates. The only gates are farm gates blocking access to powering naitence roads thst run through the woods. If you look online there are a few pics of the original first gate. It was an iron gate.
I often wonder if certain people have some extrasensory perception about their surroundings (or more likely are just more finely tuned to certain inputs over other inputs which most people are not attuned too).
I was afraid you were only going to cover one aspect of the 7 gates legend. But you've done your research and coveted it all. I live 6 miles from the Codorus Furnace and even have a video I did for the Conservation Socirty on my channel they had an event thst showed the Wills one room school house and also the Codorus Furnace. My video includes both.
Yeah, when doing these videos one needs to hit all the points or the comments explode from the people who only know that one point and nothing else of what the history tells. Is "Wills" the one on E. Prospect? I wish I could remember what I was out there for 20 years ago.
@@galacticknight55544 the reality is that once you pass the first gate, you are on acres and acres of totally cleared and open fields. No woods, no trees, not even tall grass.

Scott, love your videos but you need to work on camera setup. Your camera is really having a hard time with the lighting. It has to close the aperture to bring the background into focus, limiting the light passing though the sensor. To keep motion blur down it has to speed up the shutter speed which again limits light to the sensor. With little light getting to the sensor the camera has to crank up the iso which produces the grainy video. This effect is enhanced at 4K resolution. I see in the background a light umbrella, so it seems you're on the right path to resolve this.

I would love to hear more about the other stories you referenced!
