That's a good idea, I like those little row units! I have done that before soaking chains, put them on and run them ,only takes a few acres till they're like new again! Thanks Scott have a great day!
Yes just got ready to put on hoppers , some of the hoppers r rusty so now I’m cleaning them but hopefully she might b ready soon. Patience is running thin but the lord will c me through!
The corn crop is looking real good, those #71 units work real nice. These units should plant soys nice and you can always drop units to plant corn or just add seed corn to the rows you plant.
Great video bud, keep am coming, got a ? For you, I found an old 71 2 row planter with fert hoppers and the guide markers, Its been in a barn its whole life when not in use, it looks like its brand new, my ? Is, he wants 1500 for it, even has the manuals for it. Do you think it's worth it? Are they hard to find parts for it? Only has corn plates, can other seed plates be found for it? Help.

That’s awesome going through the planner make sure everything is perfect I’m thinking you took off those fertilizer tanks when you go to make another fertilizer system on The planter
mrour canada This is the other planter that was on trailer,I’m working On( for soybeans). The other planter with fertilizer hoppers still intac under shelter ( for corn) . Thanks mrour Canada,i appreciate you watching and commenting friend.
Looks like your getting it closer to what you need... and as far as narrow rows goes in soybeans I have done lots of testing in the past on 30, 20, 15, and 8 inch and played with populations from 70-180,000 and found no difference in the end results on the row spaces except for the 8 inch drilled not being as good and were harder to pickup off the ground. And population wise in the rest it was very consistent with 90,000 population
@@gleanerk Plus planting beans with a corn planter is way better than a drill for population control and also beans will emerge better in rows when ground gets hard they push together
@@AJmx2702001 thank you very much for sharing this information with us. I've planted beans for 20 years now here on this Farm using the grain drill. Cousin planted corn for the first time here this year and I am extremely impressed with how well the planter creates row population evenly spaced. I'm anticipating very evenly spaced bean plants in the rows cousin we'll be planting as soon as things dry out enough to get back in the field to plant. Thank you again for sharing your years of experience with us.
That looks likely to work for you - I do hope so for you after all your efforts. Quick question -how is the planter held steady (no sideways sway) behind the tractor when in work?

Dan Whiteford
Thanks Dan for kind thoughts! The tractor has sway blocks that turn out to help with the sway of the implement.
Where did you order parts at for this planter?
Found some on ebay ( kinda high) , green parts store. Yetter still sells these planters and has parts too ! They bought the copyright from Deere
@@gleanerk what sucks is Yetter doesn’t sell parts, you have to find a “dealer” it’s a pain!
Oh I didn’t know that. I try to buy extra planter units if possible when there available and at a reasonable price
