Exactly, I told my son if I had the knowledge and exposure to learning, that I do now, I probably coulda went really far, I only played 2 years of baseball 10-11 and people always told me I was a good pitcher but I never knew how important that coulda been for me
I feel like in High School , movement is key. Learn to move fast and hide the ball. The hard-throwing will come towards the end of high school as you start training the muscles more.
I remember, one time when you were at Jaeger, you telling me about your HS coach getting on your case for throwing against a backstop. You had just decided to leave HS early and we were talking about being able to handle mechanical engineering while playing college baseball.
Boxers used to have the same attitudes about lifting weights (that it would slow them down). Not sure if that's changed, but Bauer's ideas in HS aren't the craziest
I’m a senior in high school, I never touched weights till the end of my junior year, I’ve always had a lot of power when it came to pitching and hitting because of my size. I sit about 6’6, 210 pounds and I throw 75-83, I’m going to be hitting the weight room hard this fall and winter so I’m hoping it works out to get to mid 80s to low 90s.
I didn't lift upper body And just did lunges and squats until I was 19yr old. Stats looked like this. Bench- 225 squat- 405 85-89mph After working a serious weight program for a little over a year.... Bench-405 squat-500 fastball jumped to 88-93mph
Trevor, if you read these, I am a big fan... You and I are so much alike... at Kent state, my pitching coach said I wasn't throwing enough sliders... so I only threw sliders until he pulled me from the game... I too had one of those sticks as well... not one personally made, but that flat one made for physical therapy... I got screwed from going to the MLB... glad u made it, hope those assholes let u keep playing!
Reverse lunge, front squats, strengthen the legs Bc that’s where most of velo comes from Most 90 mph+ pitchers have very high reverse lunge compared to their body weight
All I can is say is that I have been doing all these things I’m in the weight room 5 days a week doing sprints explosive work medicine balls and it just hasn’t come to me yet I wish I could do a lesson with you to show others like me that would love to be a mlb pitcher and accomplish my dream
Idk what I’m doing wrong. I’m 5’11 225Ibs and decently strong. But I’m only throwing 74-77 I definitely don’t have mobility problems because I can do the splits.
If you have arm pain then there is a mechanical problem with your throwing. Go see Tom House. Trevor would probably say your lower half is out of sync with your top half. Watch all of Trevor's videos. My son is a P5 pitcher and has NEVER had arm pain. He learned to protect it through Tom House.
You gotta be REALLY careful basing things on survivorship bias anecdotes. Some people could have smoked and drank in the off season and made the MLB. How many people did what these guys did and didn't make it? That's why anecdotes are so dangerous
IM 52 and been working on my mechanics. I started pitching 18 months ago. Since all you are pro's, what do I need to do to correct sloppy mechanics? ruclips.net/video/4aA5hYM8rq4/видео.html
I wish back in my days MLB pitchers talk to us and give us as much insight as you guys are doing for this generation, that’s why I love this game
Right!? It’s wild…these kids are so blessed.

Truth that no pitcher in my days was giving information like this
that blue glove in the screenshot is beautiful. much respect and #freebauer . love ya bro

Nate Eovaldi got Tommy John surgery his junior year of high school, so there is definitely such thing as going too hard while young

Any advice thanks.
You’ve got a huge frame. Simplify mechanics and learn how to sequence those long levers correctly.
@@gra6282 thanks
Don't hit the weights too hard and never throw you'll setup yourself for injuries
you need a pitching coach to work on your mechanics

U werent benching 405 after a year’s training mate 🤣🤣
@@Yem813 Yea, that's fucking nonsense to go from 225 to 405 in a year.

Absolutely!
