  • In this video we are visiting all the places in Dalarna that the Swedish king Gustav Vasa went to before the uprising against the Danish union King Christian II in 1520. This is the story of how the 24 year old future king of Sweden fled into hiding and later held speeches in order to get the Dalarna people on his side during the struggle. We are visiting Uppsala cathedral where the Gustav Vasa grave is and then Rankhyttan, Ornäsloftet, Isala lada, Rättvik church and Mora church. This is the Gustav Vasa adventures during december 1520 and the video is called the 2020 Gustav Vasa road trip.

I found this information very interesting. I am learning bit, by bit, about Swedish history. I also enjoy hearing some Swedish as I don't have an opportunity to hear it spoken. Thanks again.

What a wonderful trip! Thank you for this video. It’s especially fascinating for me, as my Great Great Grandparents came to the US from Svärdsjö over 150 years ago. Also because I am told that Sven Elfsson was one of my ancestors.
