With great America getting a large flat ride for 2024 I think it’s definitely gonna be a 2026 coaster for the 50th. If you remove buccaneer battle that’s been SBNO and the go cart track next door you have a lot of space to work with. But you could remove demon (which has been a maintenance nightmare and expensive to get parts since arrow has been bankrupt for 2 decades) which is in that area too and have a plot size to put something massive. I think great America needs an airtime machine. I would love an RMC trex. I could maybe see them going with an intamin multi launch as well.
1) RMC doesn't convert out-and-back woodies - they convert twisters. RMC American Eagle isn't happening. It's simply a poor layout for RMC's best features. RMC won't convert Kings Island's Racer for the same reason. 2) Parks likely won't opt for a B&M Surf unless they have a plot near the front of their park to fill. Guests won't want to wait over an hour to stand up on a coaster mid-day or later. Unless Great America closes Superman, they don't really have space near the entrance for one. Demon's site is probably too far back to be ideal, even with its entrance close to Hometown Square. 3) The S&S Axis seems ideal for smaller parks that desperately need a stand-out coaster around 100 feet tall. Six Flags St. Louis arguably needs one much more than Great America does. Same goes for Over Georgia, which doesn't have a Free Spin. So I'm selling that option. 4) Great America has a MASSIVE height gap in their coaster lineup between 128 and 165 feet, a sizeable top speed gap between 51 and 66 mph, and a noteworthy length gap between 2130 to 2700 feet. Guess which coaster model fills that niche perfectly?!? Yep, a B&M Mini Dive. If they're getting a thrill coaster, that's likely what they're getting. And they don't even need to touch Demon to build one.
@ChipmunkVR780 village of gurnee. They have never said no to great america, the park just needs to submit the plans for approval for anything above 120 ft which is probably why that is the height of x flight. But so many structures are taller. Giant drop raging bull sky trek tower american eagle goliath deja vu vertical velocity shockwave maxx force sky striker. Fingers crossed for a giga sometime!
SFGA has mentioned on their social a few different times that Eagle will not be RMC'd. But I guess they can always change their mind. I hope Demon is just getting repaired and not closing permanently.
Demon is one of my favorite coasters. The fact that it has pieces of shockwave (my favorite coaster) as part of its track after the repair makes it even more special.
Love the Demon. I’m 42 and have to say. Fix the American Eagle , demon can go. Sorry. I love it but it’s 2023 and since the shockwave is gone also. It’s time.
I don’t think a Raptor would come to SFGAm for capacity reasons for now. They would likely go for a B&M Dive and have the Raptor go to a mid-tier park in the chain like SFOG or SFDK
B&M dive is lame as shit. I've rode 3+. Waste of money. Edit: also you really think magic mountain and great adventure are too big for raptors? well those two parks are the only six flags with more (or rivaling... great adventure tiny bit less atendance literally depends on investments and year by year) attendance than SFGAM. Plus wonderwomen at magic mountain kicks wonderwoman at fiesta texas out the water. dr diobolical and valraven are objectively (heavy emphasis, big time) worse than raptors, if you actually like coasters.
The demon is already back open. I think most likely is an RMCing of American Eagle. Goliath is the most popular ride in the park and American Eagle is the classic sign of the park that they’ve let decay the past few years. They simply don’t have room for the other options without demolishing a ride and they don’t seem willing to do that to their existing lineup.
I think they should add a little kiddie coaster to replace sprockets rockets in 2025 so they can relive the coaster drought for not too much $ and then they can go big the next year for the 50th without RMC eagle
Unpopular opinion: I think they might get a giga. now HEAR ME OUT, a giga could make sense. Demon taking down their rock work is very suspicious. If demon closes, it leaves a giant plot of land for something massive, with buccaneer battle and the go cart track coming down. Six flags has never opened a giga, which doesn't make sense. They have plenty of hypers and a strata, but no giga. I get it, gigas are expensive, but they pack a major punch. If six flags great america opens a giga by B&M, it would make a ton of sense. Great america is a top 3 park in the six flags chain, and they have had a lot of history in the past with B&M, and I see how we could get a surf coaster, but I don't see it seeing that there isn't really a place in the park where it would make sense to open. I think a lot of people sleep on great america, but if a giga opens, the park will be recognized once again as a world-class park, and get what the park deserves. Now if you disagree, don't send hate towards me, but tell me why you disagree because we all have our own opinions. TLDR: It would make sense for Six Flags Great America to add a giga for their 2026 season
Agree with the giga idea but there's 1 problem. I'm pretty sure Great America has a height limit making them not able to build a coaster over 200ish ft...
They need a Giga! I know the park has height restraints ... so start digging!! If they could make American Eagle go 20 feet below ground why not go a little further? (😂 ...I admit, I am saying this with much naiveté - I dunno what's down there.) What makes me nuts is the park was there long before the surrounding area was built up. It's sad it's so land locked. OR... It would be REALLY cool to have a coaster that spans the entirety of the park. They all ARE really top-notch coasters - but we're sick of the short rides! If ya can't make em' taller, make them looooong.
Demon is staying, it was closed all season due to the park trying to find a company to take down the rock work on demon. I even confirmed this with a staff member a few days ago.
@@stevenacken6444 actually this staff member is a family friend of ours, and they where the one who told us that they were going to be opening Maxx force before construction even started. They let us in on some insight info sometimes and is a trust worthy source.
The took down the waterfall, rerouted the line a bit and replace a piece of demon's track that had suffered from the waterfall spray with a piece from shockwave! The chainlift is also shockwave's variable speed chainlift.
God I hope we get a T-rex. Honestly I can see an axis more realistic. GP don't know Joker and Maxx force are the same manuf. Same thing with axis. T-rex been on the market for what, over 5 years now? Not lookin good for T-rex model.
I hope they get a surf coaster Maybe in the spot of of go carts and buccaneer battle in 2026 but in 2025 I hope they do somthing with the kids zones Maybe make one nice one of re theme them because right now they honestly are pretty trash
I think they should let demon stay open for it's 50th anniversary, and they could remove "buccaneer battle" And the "go carts" upcharge ride, and they could put a new ride there. Edit: did you know that is 2013, they announced that American eagle will be RMC'ed and then it got cancelled, idk why it got cancelled but then they announced that Goliath will be coming to the park. And I'm not mad that they cancelled it bc now RMC has even more amazing inversions that they can do and way better tracks, so I'm not mad and I want them to work there magic on American eagle!
I REMEBER THIS!!!! *huge sigh* Goliath has one of the best drops on an RMC. Honestly for RMCs only steel vengeance beats goliaths drop. Twisted colossus, lightning rod, NTG, iron rattler, etc... all have inferior drops than Golaith. Statistically and in my opinion. Edit: I also think it would be incredibly odd the last coaster remaining that opened with the park would close on their 50th, but as we saw for cedar point, annivs don't mean much besides signs and social media posts.
which is why the park president of Great America is also the park president of St. Louis, shouldn't have a park president running 2 parks, picks favorites
My Personal Pick For The Besy Six Flags Park If I'm Being Honest I Think They Already Have A Super Deep Lineup I Kimda Wish They Would Add A B&M Hyper/Giga It Would Give Them A Standout Coaster And It Would Be One Of The Midwest's Best Coasters (Giving The Layout)
They have issues with height restrictions so a giga might not be possible. I'd love to see a B&M hyper & it may be a lot more possible now with Cedar Fair involved.

@8:00 great america just needs height approval from the city to build above 120 or so; their actual height limit is about 325’
A 325 foot t rex would be cool, and going 95 mph
Permission from gurnee, or chicago?

@FierceCoasters I heard it just reopened this weekend!
American Eagle getting the RMC treatment seems unlikely since the ride has history towards it

not a bad idea
Six Flags is working with Mach. They just installed the power splash at over Texas
Yes Demon id old, but it is a classic and we need to preserve the old rides.I was 5 years old when it was renamed Demon from Turn of the Century.

They might not but they should! Too many short rides
Honestly True 5 Of Their Coasters Are Under 30 Seconds Long
Demon isn’t even top 200 oldest rides let alone “one of the oldest operating coasters around” time stamp 5:43
My Wish: Demon removed and replaced with a Vekoma 6+ Looping Coaster with airtime hills.
that would be sick
Demon ain’t going anywhere for a while
Great American needs a multi looper badly. Vekoma needs to step up
Can you do one on St.Louis?
I don't think you mentioned Six Flags America in this video in Maryland
3:38 and Gerstlauer
Six Flags Great America needs a dive roller coaster ride I hope we get one sometime soon
heck not for the next one, we would have waited way too long for something as basic as that
agreed. Dive coaster need to die. ESP with vest restraints. Ill take sheikra over valraven any day just cuz the harnesses.@@Verdelite

We need need a RMC single rail, B&M dive, multi launch, or even give Flash V2 a new version but the same thing as great adventure’s
My guess is both. RMC Eagle for 2025 and then t - rex in the Demons spot for 2026.
