Stunning is the word! Spring is my favorite time of year, I really like the dresses you bought you look so pretty in them. The first dress, and the third dress especially! The second dress when you held it up I wasn't so sure about, but on you it was so cute! The tennis dress so cute too! The last matching set wow so elegant! I really like your new style so classy and your so pretty!
Thank you so much ! I've been experimenting a bit and trying out new styles, I've spent a lot of time looking at old hollywood photos so maybe thats where the change in style is coming from? lol I would LOVE to find more pieces like the last set. The tennis dress is a bit different for me but I think its fun!
The poodle skirt aaah so so cute! And I'm in love with the yellow dress, it suits you very well! And the last dress, the black one with embroidery is very flattering!! as always you found beautiful pieces and made them work so well with your style! Happy spring 🌸💐🌺🌷🌱
ahhh I've always wanted a poodle skirt haha I was so happy to find one in my size AND red! 🐩 I really want more pieces like the last set but they are really hard to find, at least at a reasonable price. Most dress suit sets look like office work wear from the 80s ...hard pass
I debated for so long if I should buy that dress of not! I love the beading and it does have a "modern 1920s" style to it I think especially with the right hairstyle and accessories. Thank you ! I can't believe I own a poodle skirt haha 🐩
That pink/red dress looks marvelous on you! Also the red one could be a christmas dress as well I think :) And that coat, my God, you really do score all the great stuff! Btw you should be very grateful that your figure allows so many vintage styles - I often find that all those pieces have a tiny waist when they are actual vintage pieces. I swear Etsy gets all my money, the treasures there are endless!
Madilyn here from Iowa. I loved the poodle skirt, but then you looked devine in the brown, beaded evening gown but when you put on the last black dress and jacket with the embroidery on it, that was just gorgeous on you. I agree with others, that you look good in everything and it is hard to choose. You have such good taste. You could easily model for a 40's / 50s magazine. You definitely could pass for an American movie star from the 40's.
Oh my gosh thank you so much for your sweet message! That dress and jacket with the embroidery is probably my best thrift find, how someone donated it is beyond me. Wow that is a huge compliment thank you ! Movie stars in the 40s were so glamours! You really don't see that anymore with actors or celebrities.
Lots of 80s dresses were often literally just plain 100% 1940s clones. And that sort of shiny flower sort of pattern was very very very popular in the 80s, and like you said dont really think it was a thing in the 40s
OKKK thats what I'm saying!!! You can find so many amazing pieces at the thrift store and they are all so unique! I didn't start thrifting until a couple of years ago actually but I am never going back to regular stores haha.
I was a teenager in the 80s. There was a time in 1986 were stores were putting out a few of the dresses that look from the 1940s with a matching fabric belt like the burgundy/maroon dress you showed. I know I had one and wanted more but unfortunately the trend did not pick up so if you found one, you were lucky so you are probably correct that it was from the 1980s using an old pattern. My dress also did not have shoulder pads either-maybe that’s why the trend didn’t last long.
Yess! The 80s took a lot of inspiration from the 1940s! This could be one of the dresses you are talking about, or from that time period because I'm 100% sure this dress is homemade (Probably from an old pattern). So many people wear the "80s does 40s" style dresses and make them work perfectly for 1940s looks. But the fit was slightly different, I find the 80s dresses to be a bit baggier at the top and the way they created the skirts was different ? like the panels when making the skirts, There is something off with them because they aren't as flattering on the hips. I think 1940s dresses/skirts draped better and were more figure flattering.
I'd like to build such an elegant feminine vintage closet. The black set is so stunning and a dream come true!
You totally can! The thrift store has tons of gems! 😊
You always find the best clothes! Everything you find looks great on you!
Thank you that means a lot! 💕
The dress at the end is the best
Thank you ! I saved the best for last 😉
That 11:30 dress is my favorite from this haul. Perfect!

That set at the end 😍
Wow you definitely have a good eye for good pieces that look adorable on you! That last outfit (dress & jacket) is stunning on you. 💕
Oh that brown "1920s" beaded dress and that polka dot blouse were my favourites. Although that poodle skirt is exceptional!!! 🐩😱👏☺️

Wow, I have never seen anything fit that well on anyone than the milk chocolate dress. Seriously, it was made for you.
You should check out the dresses from Paris Rouje 😍 their wrap dresses are very 1940s inspired but modern! I love their patterns
OOh ! I'll check them out! thank you !
So Cute
