Nice video.
That second last fish was a nice one.
I love my Trevally fishing.
Thank you Andy!
I started washing your videos from 25-06-2022 and was amazed by the information you give about the leader the lure, line, rod a total review of the equipment used which a very high percentage of fishermen don’t do in their videos so thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
I think this is one of the most interesting video made by fish on tv
I ended up buying this exact tackle set up after watching this video,it's so exciting to watch
Thank you and we are glad you like it!
When you caught Sagai, you'll addicted to the Sagai game. Especially when the Sagai took your lures using Ultralight setup
Yes sir! You're right! Really fun!
Kemaihhh sepiking sipoo kita...
When boat drifting the most effective depth for this technique within 10 to 25m max. The most critical factor to set the jighead to the seabed. Otherwise try to monitor thru the sonar whether u can attract mid level swim fish. Good job Nigel !!
That's exactly it! Thanks for sharing, Art Extremist!
Went fishing last friday, used the Pink UV. Very impressive of the effectiveness. Setup was as mentioned, Rod is PE1.2, Braided line PE1, leader fluorocarbon 12lb, jig hook 2.5 gm. Caught 3 Trevally within 15 - 20 min.
What was the water depth?

tks for your information.

I award you the Singapore Gomoku Fisherman King
ha ha!!!!!
Good one Nigel! Love the video..
One of the best videos by far....
keep it up and tight lines!
+LightRockFishing Valladares Thank you Sir!
Hi Nigel... I am moving to light/Ultra light fishing.. need to understand how does one choose the lures/soft plastic to work correctly... For example i have the Gomoku Bottom not sure if i am working the lure correctly .. any pointers as i fishing only from the shore/break water or any banks
What was the water depth? Was the boat on anchor or drifting? It's hard to sink the lure when the boat is drifting too fast and when the water is too deep...
Where can I buy this rapala rod and gomoku lures?
sir..what brand of JIGHEAD you use at the minutes 5:00 the black one jighead
?please reply me
That was Decoy Chinu head
Good day. what is the rod you use here? And where we can buy the rod? also the soft baits.
Hi,
Nigel is using the Rapala RFS which out of stock already. But there is a improve version which names Rapala Vespida that allows you to do this kind of fishing as well. The soft bait is the Storm Gomoku Soft Bulky Ring.
@@RapalaSoutheastAsia hi. Where we can buy the rod and the soft baits. Do you have the website?
what hook size should i use for the bulky ring?
Where is the best place to purchase this rod and reel?
is this in Kuantan? mind share the skipper's no please...
Hey There! May I know the reel that you are using? Possible to recommend some spinning for Micro jigging or light weight luring?
Hi Aloysius, Nigel was using a Daiwa Luvias and Certate.
I got a question, how can we use such light weight lures when the current is stronger,it'll take forever to reach the bottom
Hello! The current has to be just right to be able to fish the soft plastics effectively. Too fast a current and it will be difficult to get it to the right depth where the fish are holding. Some tips that might be able to help for midwater holding fish:
1. Use thinner diameter line to reduce line drag in the current.
2. Use a heavier jighead.
3. Anchor further upcurrent.
Sometimes you may not need to let the jighead reach the bottom too if the fish are holding in mid-water. You just need to get the lure down to where the fish are holding and hold the rod steady with bail arm closed. Bites will come as little nibbles so you got to be quick to set the hook. Hope these little tips help.
How deep was the water my friend?
Those runs are addictive
+SwimbaitFreak Music to anglers' ears! :D
Experience guy!! Nice catch
Does the Gomoku Bulky Ring works on Peacock Bass or Grouper
What depth are you fishing?
Around the 15-20 meters mark for this type of fishing
hello, may i know what knot did u use for connection between braid and flurocarbon for ultra light tackle?
+Andy Choe Hi, you may use the FG knot or Slim Beauty knot :)
Ok well noted. thanks for the advise : )
I've watched this video hundreds of times with my fishing kaki. Went southern islands last weekend and tried this setup and amazingly managed to reach the bottom in shallow/soft current waters. But sadly no sagais.
Would you be able to recommend boatman contacts for micro jigging and or sagai fishing in the southern islands?
Hello Hafiz, thank you for following us on Fish On! TV and we're glad you gave the Gomoku Soft a try. The best months for Sagai are from November to about February. You may wish to check out captains like Alex Lim, Henry Ho (Ah Ho) or Ah Heng (Sure Heng) who charter out of RSYC. They are the best for Sagai ajing and micro jigging. All the very best! :)
Sir... Love the video.. 🥰🥰🥰 can i attach a swevel bet the braid and the leader?
what type of reel are u using sir
What reel were you using
hi bro.. awesome vid! btw ive been to payponds here in sg..ive seen trevallies swimming arnd in groups.. do you think these lures could attract them? if yes, then do u have any techniques to how to get em? thanks
Hi, we have tried the Gomoku Soft Bulky Rings on Barramundi and Mangrove Jacks but never specifically on pond-stocked Trevally so we can't really say what techniques will work best. You may wish to give it a try and experiment a bit to see what retrieve or technique will get them to bite in the ponds. Do let us know! :)
Will it be too light to cast if I aim for Peacock Bass at reservoirs? By the way does it works on Peacock bass
It works. Don't know how effective but it works.
Where can i get those Gomoku bait u use?
Hi,
May I know where are you located at so that we can direct you accordingly?
@@RapalaSoutheastAsia im from Brunei Darussalam
that looks like fun... imma gonna give it a try
Please do! And do let us know how you go too Ariff! :)
Can i use a Stella 1000 for such fishing?
Hi,
Yes, you can! In fact it's suitable for this kind of fishing!
Good and expensive choice too!
cool, its hook with sinking name?
Didn't imagine small plastics are able to fish in salts. Kudos Nigel
Yes they do! Give it a try +Yakimurai
Will this work in the eastern side of Singapore water ?
yes it will work in Changi waters as well
ooh man. its Really heavy Poison to my Mind :D very Nice stuff.. keep it up..
Glad you enjoyed the video! :) Please tell your friends ;)
Love fishing for Trev and what reel was that and what stores have the gomoku plastics
Hi Liam, Nigel was using a Daiwa Certate 1003 Daiwa Luvias 2004. You may wish to check out www.fishingmarathon.com or www.eastackle.com
Hi Sir, 0.4 main and what's your leader lb?
+Azroy Tan The leader is 8lb Sufix Invisiline
How deep the ocean?
this is how i think. i think about use soft plastic middle of the sea. if the depth aorund 30 to 40 metre, how about softplastic size and hook size and weight.
I would love to try this product, but it's hard to get this in Indonesia.
Is there any information to get this product here? will be much thankful :)
Hi Ramdhani, you may wish to try ordering through Garuda Sunter (Jakarta) or CV Bandung in Indonesia.
Pls contact Deje Pancing Dhikdoc. Lengkap disana om.
Cant wait to try... Hopefully able to land some fish...
What a crazy video. How many depth did you play that SP? Seem to be pretty shallow. So far gomoku bulky rig is my favorite to cath tarpon, baby trevally, terapon jarbua, or even baby barracuda.....and match to decoy jighead 2,5gr. But totally played at estuary. Love to play small fish using finesse tackle.
The depth is about 12m
Fish On! TV Thank you very much for the response. I will apply this technique once I have a chance to fish on boat.
All the best Pak Kadek :)
Isit possible to use baitcaster rod n reel
Bro why to buy in Singapore
Hi, Fish On TV, nice video, May I know what is the cost of the set up and where to get it ?
Hi Tarry, an ultralight rod like the new Rapala Vespida costs around SGD160 while a reel with a smooth drag like the Luvias (which features Daiwa's ATD) will cost around SGD290 or so. Plus line, lure and jigheads you're looking at about SGD500+ for a very nice setup like what Nigel used. That said, you can always use a lower spec setup that matches your budget. It can still catch you the Sagai on micro soft plastics :)
Where can I get those Storm Plastic lures like So Run Makan Minnow, and Hypno Grub and other like lures in Singapore? Thanks for the reply.
You can try Sincere, Riverland, E-Waves Fishbyte, The Helping Hand (Kovan)
great video! thank you
Thank you, appreciate it!
For leader line can i use 10lbs fluro
You are a born talented fisherman and product promoter ! If I am the manufacturer, I will engage you as our company product ambassador !
CONGRATULATIONS; VERY NICE VIDEO..........
nice gomoku 👍👍💕💕👍👍
How much is the diawa luvias
Soft lure n jig head what number n gram??
Hi,
It's the Storm Gomoku Soft Series! And VMC 7161 jigheads which have the sizes of 2.5/ 3.5 & 4.5g.
Where can I get the ball rig thing?
Hello +ChijGaming, those were Chinu jigheads but we've recently we've swapped to VMC 7150XJ Barbarian X jigheads which are stronger and sharper. Check them out (www.fishonmag.com/vmc-7150xj-7312wj-jighead/)
can i use that gomoku to get the snakhead fish?
Yes you can for small common snakehead but the lure may be too small to attract the larger Giant Snakehead
What size hook you use brother
Hi,
You can try our VMC 7161 2.5/ 3.5 & 4.5g which is available in the market now.
Awesome Video buddy!
Im switching to Softies :D tops
whether all usable spot ???
Yes you can actually use it on most places that have similar species in shallower coastal waters or when the fish are near the surface.
intead of trying to impress, i suggest you use a 2500-sized reel which has appropriate stopping power for fish of that size.
Hi gripNslip,
Yes, we will take note of that. We downsize it to have more fun as the fish here is getting smaller due to the over fish.... Sadly... ha
@@RapalaSoutheastAsia cant blame ya. we are facing the same issue in my local area
Is he using the daiwa aegis??
He is using a Daiwa Luvias
Fish On! TV thanks
Super vedio
May I know the depth of the water ? Many thanks !
+Joel Chan Jun Wen Hello Joel, the depth is about 12-15m
+Fish On! TV Thanks bro. Can I use this at a deeper water ? and may I also know where can I get the jiggs head
Joel Chan Jun Wen You can work it in deeper waters too. However it depends on the current speed as well. Too fast a current speed and the jighead+lure might not reach the depth where the fish are holding. Any jighead from 1.8g to 5g will be ideal for use.
+Fish On! TV Thanks for the info Bro ! gonna grab some gomoku micro soft plastic and try it out soon !
who's boat ?
+eugene wong Alex Lim (Spearo), Sure Heng and Ah Ho (Best Bet) are skippers you can try to engage to try this game at the Southern Islands.
Thanks
nice video
+rizal ejaybaron Thank you Rizal, we hope you will be inspired to go try micro soft plastics! :)
tried it before
what happen in the background ? u guys chumming ?
Hi Ariff, no chumming involved. Towards the end of the day the Sagai were boiling small fishes on the surface. But they refused to take jigs or lures. That is why the Gomoku Soft is so effective because the size and profile match the baitfish.
Can I join you
Sure! Of course when there is a chance!
storm 👍👍👍
Thank you Botakchin
