I agree. I grew up in the 70's and watched all kinds of monster stuff. . .and a lot of it DID scare me. But that's part of growing up. Adults today worry so much about exposing kids to stuff like this, which is a shame because the stuff they can see on the news is far more nightmare-inducing.
I remember this played on tv around Halloween years ago. They played this Disco song at the beginning and end of it that still worms its' way into my ear from mtime to time. "You've made a man... build him up... FRAN-KEN-STEEEIIIN!"
This movie seems to have scared a lot of kids, and I was one of them! It feels kind of satisfying that I wasn't alone in that, and this movie is still one of m strongest and fondest memories of childhood. I'm definitely watching this with my own kid when he's old enough, and then we'll see who gets more scared, him or me! And by the way, am I the only one who absolutely loves the music?

Holy crap I love this movie in my childhood!! There's no FRICKIN' way this should be classified as bad anime... One of the first anime that I had a tear drop in my eye, funny I told my friend that you will feel the same way in this one scene he's like yeah whatever. I showed it to him and saw a tear in his eye! LOL Great story, sad for the ending but I understand the reasons... It's stupid how people don't see the good in a lot of things which is why our society is so SCREWED up at times...
HAHAHA Christian, that's hillarious. Me too. My dad brought home a packet full of VHS tapes, Inspector Gadget, a few others and this...this was terrible..the horse head...the dog...the blood...yet it stuck with me...wow....and now is a fond memory.
It also put me off eating meat - the scene where the blood flows from the steak when he cuts it. First time I questioned where the meat on my plate comes from.

I love the old monster stories. This is the most odd rendition of Frankenstein since I saw bought those bad UK & Italian films depicting this monster.
