I saw these guys in 2006, the Oxygen festival in Ireland, County Kildare. This was there first track, before they came on stage, a white sheet was drawn across the stage... They entered afterwards.. All you could see was there shadow... They played this song...Fcuking Epic!
discover them over 15 years ago and always love their music,, two years a go finally flew to Iceland and drove it over 10 days I listened lots of their music while the journey!! epic isn't a word that can describe that!! those landscapes and infinite joy!! driving those lands make you appreciate their music and their unique art!!! now I can die!!!

They make my emotions rise like a new sun.The fluctuations in sound and melody as well as voice patterns from the talented lead singer,well, are just simply divine and heavenly. This track is for my love 'Cecile', I cant express how this makes me feel, only that I know that I love You, AND SO! so! much. people out there if you feel nothing after listening to this then you are already dead!For all who can love! Sigur Ros manages to be profoundly depressing in such a beautiful way. it makes me think about the meaning of life, spirituality, and it makes me feel nostalgic for the past and yearn for a better future.
Is it possible to describe such music? I can not find a word to describe this, breathtaking is far too diminishing of a word to describe this band and the magic they create, when one speaks of music for the soul they clearly have sigur ros in mind
not only is the music beautiful, but Sigur Ros fans just seem to be all around nice people and don't leave stupid comments about being messed up on drugs.
How can this have so few hits? I guess the sheep are too busy listening to Beiber and Jennifer Lopez. Talent young ones....you're viewing undeniable talent. Stop tweeting and put away Facebook, and watch/listen to as close to perfection as you will see.

You should listen to their song "Falling into nothingness".. Incredible great newcomer that deserves more attention...trust me..it's totally worth checking it out!
@ThanatosSagenev It is true that Sigur Ros has a unique style but I disagree on the part that they are "the best". Every post rock band has each of their own unique style and yes, you could recognize Sigur Ros easily by Jonsi voice (no shit). I think you should give massive credits to bands like Mogwai and Godspeed You! Black Emperor for paving the post rock path for bands like sigur ros. and others you mentioned earlier. Good video btw. It definitely took me to another universe.

I love this band and airy atmospheric music like this but the comment sections are always super cringey This one isnt so bad though, is mostly just people complimenting the artists and not posting predictable psuedo-intellectual "deep" stuff about how this represents what it means to be "human" and all that junk

Sigur Ros and Explosions in the Sky are my only two favourite post-rock bands. Amazing, absolutely amazing.
Seen them both live, goosebumps all over skin... Surreal experience, cried the tears of joy at the end of both concerts...
goodspeed you black emperor is also another amazing post-rock band from around the same time
