I've got 4 syncros and one 2wd. These cars are awesome. However, they have 2 weaknesses: Transaxle and engine. To anyone who buys one of these: Unless it has already been done, rebuild the transaxle. It is money well spent. Then replace -or prepare to replace - the engine, whether it is the wasserboxer OR the 1.6 turbo diesel. Put in an Audi 5 cylinder, a VW 18T, a TDI, or a Subaru engine. Whatever. Sort these two things out and you have one of the most comfortable, versatile and reliable classic cars ever. I absolutely love them. Great job on your car, Toba. Well done!
well that hateful boat anchor has taken me coast to coast of Canada twice, southern Mexico and back and she's still going. I'd call that satisfactory for 30 year old engine.

thanks! the side windows you just need to push on from the inside. we carefully pryed them out with a couple of 2 by 4s
