A few days ago I bought a Stone Sour CD without knowing this song was on it and I was listening to it in the car when the song came on. I have to admit I pulled over and had a good cry because it made me think about all the good times I had with my Dad. I'm happy to see that Corey Taylor is able to do my Dad's favorite song so perfectly.
Is there nothing that Corey can't sing ? He does comment about his neck, but you can tell a musician that has a solid neck as their voices have such varied octaves from high to low & everything in between. I could watch him for hours, I think i might :)
Not a fan of slipknot just not my thing but Corey Taylor is a huge talent, To go from the really heavy stuff that Slipknot do to an acoustic stripped down performance like this as seamlessly as that is inspiring

Corey and his music (no matter which band he's worked with) has been a huge support throughout most of my (especially my teens) life. And when I go through a lot of the track here on YT, I see something peculiar. There are, A LOT, of people from around 1985 to 1990 who have followed him like I have (I am from 1987). I can't help but think that something was up in the 90's from which stone sour (I remember how "Bother" was on MTV constantly) gave us a break. And it went even further in the late 90's/early Y2K when "Slipknot" became a thing. I remember seeing a program about Stone Sour, and when the band heard his voice in Slipknot, the were like: "Can he also sing like that?!?" And so they wanted to do something harder as well. So then they made the double track "sovereign/absolute zero" which to this day is one of my personal favorites. And when I was young and going through a really hard time (and had a lot of hate for the world) "Tired" really helped me get a lot of my aggressions out of my system. Corey Taylor is the GOAT to me.
What most people don’t realize is at 3:55 that was the most raw, emotional, beautiful part...He didn’t need to cough to make it clearer. It was perfect.

I dont care what anyone says, Corey and Aaron Lewis going on acoustic tour and looking like they're genuinely having fun and playing music they're passionate about is flat out awesome and is more pure ROCK than just continually trapping themselves in the same sound over and over just to please a core demographic for album sales.
