Him forgetting his lyrics is pretty ironic considering the subtext of Pure Comedy. Love this man and seeing him make that mistake and keep rolling made me love him all the more. He's one of us soulful predators too.
there’s honestly something so amazing about hearing someone who sounds the same live as they do in the studio. for FJM i honestly think he sounds better live
Here I thought I was the only one that forgot where I was in my own songs! This is still so brilliant! I’m thankful for finding FJM recently, I was really ready to give up.
There are so many lyrics on this masterpiece of a record I often wander how he recalls them all. FWIW saw him perform Leaving LA live and he didn’t miss a note or word.
Naturally the dying man wonders to himself: Has commentary been more lucid than anybody else? And had he successively beaten back the rising tide Of idiots, dilettantes, and fools on his watch while he was alive? Lord, just a little more time Oh, in no time at all This'll be the distant past So, says the dying man, once I'm in the box, Just think of all the overrated hacks running amok And all of the pretentious, ignorant voices that will go unchecked- The homophobes, hipsters, and one percent The false feminists he'd managed to detect Oh, who will critique them once he's left? Oh, in no time at all This'll be the distant past What he'd give for one more day to rate and analyze The world made in his image as of yet to realize What a mess to leave behind Eventually the dying man takes his final breath But first checks his news feed to see what he's about to miss And it occurs to him a little late in the game We leave as clueless as we came From rented heavens to the shadows in the cave We'll all be wrong someday
Naturally the dying man wonders to himself: Has commentary been more elusive than anybody else? And had he successfully beaten back the rising tide Of idiots, dilettantes, and fools On his watch while he was alive Lord, just a little more time Oh, in no time at all This'll be the distant past Ooh So says the dying man once I'm in the box Just think of all the overrated hacks running amok And all of the pretentious, ignorant voices that will go unchecked The homophobes, hipsters, and 1% The false feminists he'd managed to detect Oh, who will critique them once he's left? It makes me feel better that I’m not the only one that gets lost in songs so much that you start the wrong verse. 😂
Give that sound engineer a damn raise. Fantastic performance!
Kevin Suggs is always performing
1:40 gave me a chuckle. He's only human after all.
I'm here for "This is us". Somebody else...?

Josh naturally wondered to himself what the lyric was, which is" "Naturally the dying man wonders to himself."
I think that was the sound guy that messed up the MIC

Naturally the dying man wonders to himself:
Has commentary been more lucid than anybody else?
And had he successively beaten back the rising tide
Of idiots, dilettantes, and fools on his watch while he was alive?
Lord, just a little more time
Oh, in no time at all
This'll be the distant past
So, says the dying man, once I'm in the box,
Just think of all the overrated hacks running amok
And all of the pretentious, ignorant voices that will go unchecked-
The homophobes, hipsters, and one percent
The false feminists he'd managed to detect
Oh, who will critique them once he's left?

The world made in his image as of yet to realize
What a mess to leave behind

But first checks his news feed to see what he's about to miss
And it occurs to him a little late in the game
We leave as clueless as we came
From rented heavens to the shadows in the cave
We'll all be wrong someday
Theres a crack in everything
Naturally the dying man wonders to himself:
Has commentary been more elusive than anybody else?
And had he successfully beaten back the rising tide
Of idiots, dilettantes, and fools
On his watch while he was alive
Lord, just a little more time
Oh, in no time at all

Ooh
So says the dying man once I'm in the box
Just think of all the overrated hacks running amok

The homophobes, hipsters, and 1%
The false feminists he'd managed to detect
Oh, who will critique them once he's left?
Oh, in no time at all

Oh
Jay Parikh you really should have transcribed his mistake... disappointed tbh. I’m sorry, thank you for the lyrics, but I am.
Lucid, not elusive. Who wants elusive commentary?
What a mess to leave behind
