TCB and Thank you for your reaction..Whoever, appreciates and Love ELVIS, is my friend. You are talking about ****THE G.O.A.T.****. THE MAGNET**** THE UNREACHABLE STAR**** THE LEGEND*** I could write more than hundred words to describe this beautiful human being,,,LONG LIVE THE KING...and Hello to Canada. hey !!!!
The Jordanairs. Were Elvis's backup singer's. from 1956 to1975. Elvis also had female backing singer to called sweet inspiration. from UK 🇬🇧👍👍 big big ELVIS fan
Elvis loved giving.. and gave away just about everything he made… almost every dime. He bought a few grand things for himself… but most grand thing he bought to give to others. Elvis bought a yacht- gave it to St Jude’s and with the money built the very first legendary St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Yes his guitar was plugged in, a couple of songs before/after (One night with you, I think) someone in the audience pulls the plug out and he never skips a beat, he was the consumate performer.
Subscribed because you are a musician and you did Elvis Presley! Elvis just had so many skills that you cant teach in music schools... He had that IT factor. His articulation on the guitar and even his spoken word, and that baritone voice ... charisma... stage presence... Its as close as one can get to God Mode in "gamer speak!" :)
I'm In For Elvis, Subed ! Elvis Presley, One Night With You, Live 68 Special Elvis World (4:10) Elvis Presley - TRYING TO GET TO YOU (68 Comeback Special) Live (2:58)
it was his 1968 comback special after doing 31movies, first time live in a long time the muscians were mostly his original group and friends who toured with him when he started doin live shows . 1973 live from hawaii ( AMERICAN TRILOGY) IS A GOOD ONEi just subscribed
The gentleman on his left is the original guitarist on his original recordings back in 1954. The guy to his right is Charlie Hodge his right hand man on stage and sang harmony with Elvis live. He also handed Elvis water and his scarfs on stage. I believe they met when Elvis was in the Army.
The idea of the segment was born when the show's director heard Elvis and his guys were jamming in the dressing room after rehearsal. He wanted to record it in there, but Col Parker said no. So they compromised and recreated the session in the square. It was the inspiration for MTV unplugged
You asked about the band members. The man singing harmony with Elvis to his right was Charlie Hodge, who was perhaps Elvis' closest Army buddy at Fort Hood and in Germany during Elvis' 1958-60 stint. He was actually present the first time Elvis ever met Priscilla in Germany. Elvis provided lodging for him at Graceland for 17 years while they worked together from 1960-1977, and he stayed one more year after Elvis' death to help Vernon Presley, Elvis' dad, with papers, financial affairs, etc. The drummer was D. J. Fontana, who played drums for Elvis from the very beginning of Elvis' career in 1954 at Sun Studios in Memphis until this 1968 "Comeback Special." This was his last "farewell" performance with Elvis. The lead guitarist to Elvis' far left was Scotty Moore, one of the greatest guitarists of that era (and possibly of all time). Like Fontana, he was also with Elvis from the very beginning until this final performance in 1968. Many old clips you see of the younger Elvis (from the Ed Sullivan Show, Milton Berle Show, etc) and most of Elvis' movies from 1956 to 1968, featured Fontana, Moore, and the bass guitarist Bill Black as Elvis' musicians (Black, unfortunately, died in 1965, three years prior to this Comeback Special; otherwise, he no doubt would have been on this stage too). Unfortunately, I do not know who the other one or two members were. Maybe someone who reads this may know and fill us in.
The electric guitar Elvis is playing actually belongs to lead guitarist, Scotty Moore. Elvis started the set on the acoustic guitar but he couldn’t get enough sound so he asked Scotty to swap. Scotty was not particularly happy as Elvis was known to be hard on guitars and he had only just purchased this little beauty. Regarding the electric guitar Elvis is playing being plugged in, yes it most definitely was (you can hear Elvis sing “someone pulled the plug” when the sound from it stopped.) The shows producer had instructed all the musicians that there would be no amplifiers allowed on stage but Scotty managed to sneak his in any way. That is why that is the only guitar that is amped. You might have noticed the drummer, DJ Fontana, is simply using his sticks on the back of an empty guitar place. This session of the 1968 NBC TV Special is the original unplugged session, later copied by many other artists.
@@sallycook , thank you for the info on them! I’ve often wondered about the tambourine guy. With his face and hairstyle, he so much favors an actor who played the younger brother Gabriel on the old Howard Keel movie “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”! 😁
@@johnbattles1002 Lance Le Gault played Elvis’ “cousin” in Kissin’ Cousins. Every time both characters needed to be in the scene together, Lance would have his back to the camera.
Yeah, this is Elvis' 1968 special. There are several great videos from this concert. Check out the outfits on the other musicians. Same outfit that the piano player in Angelina Jordan's Suspicious Minds. Later in this concert Elvis breaks out his Hagstrom Viking Wild Cherry guitar just like the one Angelina plays in her cover video.
Elvis fan here. Loved your reaction! The Elvis rabbit hole is deep as he recorded over 700 songs in all different genres. I think you'd enjoy this informal performance which took place during a concert: The Sit down outtake (New Edit) (9:26).
BRO, First time seeing your Channel. Since it's the Christmas season, how about reacting to another ELVIS song, "Merry Merry Christmas Baby". There's an extended version of this, a bluesy feel to it that suits my holiday mood. I hope the winter weather is treating you better..in Minnesota we've had days of harsh winds with blizzard warnings. Usually that kind of weather is something that the Dakota's get. I hope you have a Merry and Blessed Christmas season!
Of course you're tuned a half step down, brother! That's the way to do it, hahaha Great video, man! Elvis was such a great rhythm guitarist which is often overlooked because of the other stuff he's famous for. That sunburst ES-175 is just soooooo goooooood!!!!

Elvis never did Folsom prison. That was Johnny Cash. Elvis was gorgeous, and sexy and perfect!!!!!
Elvis was in standard E tuning

When did Elvis play Folsom prison? I know Johnny Cash did but didn't know Elvis did
Yeah that was my bad 😂 we watched the Elvis doc and I messed it up for like a month after too
It was 1968.
