Love this video man. This is my life right now. I recently left college at 21 to pursue certifications. Started at an help desk role at the beginning of the Pandemic, just landed my first engineering role with no degree or certifications. Great to see black men in Tech!!

Taxes will definitely do some damage; but when you add to that, lifestyle creep, that's going to really affect your pocket. It's great that you got a handle on it. I have been a low earner for most of my life and still suffered from lifestyle creep, especially when I got a pay rise or some kind of bonus; buying gadgets, spending so much of my money on eating out etc. Managed to get a handle on it the last couple of years and, especially this year, saved hard and kept a significant amount - (for the first time this year, after being made redundant, I actually have a little bit of F-U money, it has made a huge difference in how I would normally move forward). Studying to get into IT now and if I can land a job and work my way up I'll be using my newfound money skills. Like you said, without even noticing it the money just grows. I also appreciate your comment " we all love money ". If I was wiser with my money before I would have made better decisions that benefited my health, for example, which I'm having to pay for now because I blew a lot of money on non-essentials when I could have used some of that cash for early intervention; silly stuff like dental surgery. Instead I recently had to pay out BIG for surgery, because, not having money (due to wastefulness) in the past, I let my dental health get in a state. I've learned my lesson.
Ummm.... Ur fine and I’m about to do help desk starting from the bottom but I’m excited. I have BA in psychology but I love computers super happy for your IT growth and journey. I’ll have my Comptia cert soon and I will be a analyst also. Love the videos thanks for sharing your experience and being so truthful.
You guys should make a video in how to make that big jump from help desk to a specialized role. I'm sure everyone would be interested. Appreciate all the vids you guys have been putting out!
