I am a life long F1 fan - and Jim Clark was my hero. I was 10 when he died and I cried. I love the very clear mutual respect that Dan shared with Jim. So moving when he tells the story about the wake. We all grow old - but we never forget. Beautiful moment captured - one can sense the joy of the times they shared. What a re-union they will have if there is a life hereafter...
I was 11, There never was and never will be anyone who can compare with the great Dan Gurney.

What a GENUINELY Super Nice Man. Dad Gurney has always been my favorite race car driver. I remember watching him drive at Riverside. In both stock cars and sports cars he was Fast. You didn't leave anything on the table. Cars got better because of you and your intense desire to win. My dad (Ole Olsen)built the 289's at Shelby in the beginning. He would listen to the sound of his engines racing by at different points around the track. According to my Dad, Dan Gurney made engines sing. Gurney was always fun to watch. Smooth and Fast.
I know for sure transmissions got better because of your aggressiveness. Everything in car racing got better with your help and your intensity and focus. If i ever become President, i'll want your picture on money. That would make it worth something...
