There's a setting with this mod when you are hosting I think called occupation threshold. If you set it to about 90% army groups will be able to capture that region and add it to your nation. However it will force you to build the appropriate amount of army groups to capture large regions such as China, Russia and the US while Japan & Europe are easier to take over
Fun fact, the US decided to use a kitty hawk aircraft carrier as a target. It survived multiple days of direct bombing and only sunk when a team directly deployed on it to cut it down. The US super carriers are at least twice as overbuilt.
They did also remove all fuel, weapons, planes, and even flammable paints from the shio before doing that. In reality, an explosion could get inside and set ordnance or fuel off. Its not really representative
@@user-sc9oy1kz8g A fair point but in the same line it was utterly uncrewed with no damage control at all. It's not a fully representative test, but it is still impressive nonetheless and worth noting.
@@weeb3244 I damaging the deck will make an aircraft carrier impotent in the immediate fighting, but repairable. It takes years if not decades to build an entire super carrier. The survival wouldn't be in terms of keeping the aircraft carrier in the immediate fight necessarily, but it would survive for the next one. Almost all ordnance on a carrier is disarmed until put onto planes, fuel is heavily compartmentalized and has a ton of damage control around it.
Of course it would survive bombing, it's a giant floating hunk of metal. Add fuel and munitions and it becomes a floating hand grenade. An indirect strike from a Nuclear Weapon would greatly damage it seaworthiness, and a direct strike from it would vaporize it.
9:16 So…nobody else gonna acknowledge how *_PERFECT_* that attack was on that naval group? It was literally a perfect time-on-target strike involving MIRVs, Bombers, and ASMs with almost *no* communication.

I'll have you know swimmy while the laser based satellite weapons don't mathematically work, Plasma based weapons work quite well, examples include Project MARAUDER, which produced a coaxial plasma railgun capable of firing projectiles at 3000 km/s in 1995 and 10,000 km/s (3% of the speed of light) by 2000. A shot has the energy of 5 pounds of TNT exploding; although it caused little or no physical damage, the energy would shower the interior of the target with high-energy x-rays that would potentially destroy the electronics inside. This program particularly in of note since all official documents on the project were made Classified in 1993
@@ManCheat2 Yhea did some searching to and they basically a better version of a Moab but more expensive. And the whole idea was to circumvent a treathy that they cant launch nukes from outerspace or use nukes in space
I believe there was a plan for the Soviets to put nukes into orbit, to be dropped when SHTF, so to speak. However, I believe they were abandoned due to being seen as unnecessarily costly compared to traditional ICBMs, since you're burning additional delta-V to get the nukes into orbit, then more delta-V to deorbit those nukes, whereas ICBMs need less delta-V to hit anywhere in the world than they would to put their payloads into orbit.
@@ShadowWolfTJCthat’s what I was thinking that it’s not so much impossible just not ideal because yeah you would need a lot of delta v to deorbit without aero braking which takes several passes and defeats the point of a quick strike
What I don’t get is why nuking the same city 10 times does anything. You would think 2 nukes, maybe 3 or even 4 for a very large metropolitan area, would be enough to level everything important and force any survivors to evacuate.
Is strategically nuking mobile ground troops wholesale legit a thing? Glassing installations in reliable range of mobile launchers yeah but somehow directly targeting specific brigades (not something you can just do) with Ballistic Missiles seems impractical especially if said units are designed to move in a way that protects them from post-nuclear hazards so missing by a mountain and a half doesn’t actually knock them out and they can still fight. We’re only going to get better at this, too, and nukes are going to get smaller and less nukey while old warheads become unsalvageable.
I agree, they'd probably use nuclear tipped cruise missiles and other intermediate ranged tacnuke missiles instead. I'm sure that having a megaton bomb on your head sucks, but that's overkill.
@@Otterdisappointment That's a good question. In the cold war army units brought tactical nuclear weapons with them to fire at targets they saw. I'm not sure how well long range communications would hold up to call in tacnuke fires from further locations. I kinda want to think that they could have called in the intermediate ranged tactical missiles that were stationed across Germany.
