Study Habits of the Top 1%
The decisions you make today will affect the rest of your life.
That's why it is so important in everything you do that you make the best possible choices and decisions ever.
    1. Set Clear Goals.
    - Have a clearly defined path for your learning experience.
    - Set manageable goals
    - Ex. U want to learn all of calculus in a week, it's a great goal but not realistic.
    - Small baby steps.
    2. Prioritize your Learning Experience
    - Prioritize your studies
    - Make it your priority and things will be a lot easier
    - Prioritization of learning requires sacrifice.
    - It is very easy to say I don't have time. Your life is not going to change unless you do something different.
    3. Active Learning
    - Extremely important.
    - Active learning is sitting down and taking notes while reading a book, watching a video, or whatever the situation
    calls for.
    - Incorporate teaching others. You learn through teaching.
    - The reason teachers know so much is because they explain the same thing over and over again.
    - Ex. You become a master at teaching calculus because you do it repeatedly. You learn through that explanation.
    - You get a deeper understanding of the material through teaching.
    - You can apply the knowledge that you learn.
Ex. You tryna learn another language, so you speak that language.
    4. Regular Review
    - Sit down every other day or so and just go over material that you already know.
    - Reviewing what you already know.
    - This keeps you fresh and important if a prolonged period has passed.
    - Ex. Student in college taking a higher level math class. You forgot some of that basic calculus.
go back and jump into old calculus and start doing some regular review. you will find that it will benefit you with
the new material you learning. for math, the more math you know, the easier it becomes to learn new mathematics.
    5. Seek Help
    - Don't be afraid to seek help.
    - RUclips, etc. There are all kinds of resources you can use for help.
    - People in the top 1% use all of their resources, which is precisely why they are in the top 1%.
    6. Health Lifestyle Choices
    - Huge impact on your performance.
    - Sleep enough hours
    - Eating enough food and you're eating healthy choices.
    - Go outside for exercise.
    - Take care of your body and your mind will follow.
    7. Persistence and Resilience
    - This is what separates you from other people.
    - They don't give up. They experience failure but they get back up and try it once again.
    - It is extremely important o have persistence and resilience.
    - Get better at dealing with failure and learn to accept it and move on from it so that
you do not make the same mistake again.
    8. Find your motivation for learning
    - It varies from individual to individual.
    - Whatever it is, you need to find your motivation so that you can fall back on it when you encounter hurdles.
    - The stronger your source of motivation, the more likely you will succeed.
These are my notes, Hope they help someone.

I'm in my first semester of uni and i've seen that 3 of the top students in my class ask questions ALL THE TIME, even if they are sometimes dumb questions that even they don't understand, asking them clarifies them a lot of other things and it's pretty interesting to see how much they engage and how much they know about any topic

The one thing common that i’ve noticed in the top students is that they ACTUALLY LOVE studying.
That doesn’t make them stress over studies like us and they study efficiently automatically just because they love the process. This shit is missing in most of us and that’s one of the reasons we aren’t able to perform the way our capacity allows us to.

Yeah I'm in similar problem. The think you're talking about is curiosity. Which i think it would develope naturally, but in my educational, it's missed, got damaged, and i rarely feel the "whooaaw" moment or the huge positivity when i'm learn or when I do an exam. But i think this is the way to go. Learn beacause i want more, bc it interests me... yeah, i think that's the top1% too.

3:31 Feynman technique! Thanks for the video I had gotten back into math over the last year from giving brilliant a try, but I have been a bit inconsistent. I think I know what to do and just need to do it, but when I also consistently watch your videos even the book reviews, I find myself more able or more easily influenced to study. It's weird I really enjoy math, but I feel like I always brush up against mental avoidance, idk maybe it's ADD or something.

I'd expand the 4th item in your list by adding regular skill/ability evalutaion tests. This feedback is what you need to access where you are currently standing in terms of comprehension of the material that you'be studying recently. Then, if needed, you can adjust your studying strategy according to the results of a test.
Think about the situation in which you want to travel to some location B (your goal). To get there you need to compose a list of directions (your studying strategy), but you cannot do that unless you know what's your current location is (your current level of understanding of material).

Don t be ashamed where you come from, or in which social situation you are born. Don t let shame stop you. handling failure is a huge one, some people seem to think if you learned something it's because you got it the first time. if you read something and don't understand it, read it again. and again. read it 5 times. 10 times. take notes. take two days off. and then read it again. tenacity gets you farther than anything else

  • @incizor1273

I think the ”Prioritize learning” can also be looked at from a different perspective. As in prioritize learning rather than prioritizing ”passing the class” which I believe a lot of people prioritize instead. Now you might argue that that’s the same thing and they certainly do overlap in any decent course but I think a lot of people focus on ”what will be on the exam” rather than trying to build a profound understanding of the subject. The result might be that they memorize formulas rather than understanding methods.
I look at the ”prioritize learning” as a process that you can somewhat control and then your grade at an exam will be the outcome of your learning but it’s something you have less control over. I think this analogy also transfers to say health; you can control what you eat and how much you exercise and then the outcome of how many kilograms/pounds you lose you have less ”control” over or at least it’s harder to predict. Finally as a third example I think this is why you often hear succesful companies saying they focus on serving customer needs and delivering a good product/service/experience and then the outcome of that will be a good profit.

I’m currently learning math to take the SAT test. But, I’m not learning just for that reason because I know math is the mother of every subject, and we need to have a deep knowledge in it to understand other subjects like medicine or chemistry for example. Having a deep knowledge in math is helping me a lot not only to take my exercises, but also to understand the world. (English is my second language, if I had made whatever mistake, please correct me hahaha)

  • @HappyCat3096
    @HappyCat3096 Год назад

I started tutoring math when I was in high school. Continued thru college and grad school. I used to get social sciences students who had flunked their midterm and were in a panic. I made sure they passed their courses. Join a study group or start one. Do extra problems. Many texts have answers in the back so you can check your work. Don't panic, you are not bad at math, you just haven't found the right teacher yet. Some people learn more slowly than others, that's okay.

Years ago I read an article about students who study while being live on web so other people can watch the studying. They said by being watch they felt connected. Their daily study intervals increased a lot. A friend of mine told me when he was a school kid he had great resistance to do homework. But he knew a trick: He was lucky to have a friendly mother. So after school he did is homework in the kitchen to be around his mother.

If you only allocate learning math to studying time you’re most likely gonna have a poorer understanding of the concepts compared to if you just ‘lightly’ think about it throughout your day.
