A thought on the rainbow in the 10 of Cups. It is beautiful and brings us joy, but I think it brings as much joy as it does because it doesn't happen every day. We aren't taking it for granted, like the 4 of Cups might. It takes just the right circumstances for there to be a rainbow in the sky and it is fleeting, a moment in time. I feel like it sets that expectation for the 10 of Cups... That is a fleeting moment of happiness or perfection, enjoy it. If every day we're that great we might become complacent about it. This is a standout moment where everything was "just so".

Thanks once again for the exercise! Here are my cups keywords for comparison--I tried to keep them all specifically true to facets of emotion:
    Ace of Cups - *Purpose*
Two of Cups - *Affinity* (attraction through common purpose)
Three of Cups - *Inclusion* (open-heartedness, two friends welcoming another, not excluding like a third wheel)
Four of Cups - *Apathy* (inability to receive what's offered)
Five of Cups - *Disappointment* (dismayed hopes blinding one to possibility, spilled blood [wine], sweat and tears [water])
Six of Cups - *Sincerity* (childlike vulnerability in opening up to others)
Seven of Cups - *Longing* (FOMO, infatuations)
Eight of Cups - *Resignation* (acceptance and withdrawal, overcoming a sunk cost fallacy)
Nine of Cups - *Satisfaction* (the easily addictive feeling of needs and appetites being sated)
    Ten of Cups - *Contentment*
Regarding the Two of Cups, I'm interested to see your upcoming Pentacles episode to compare it with the Three of Pentacles (collaboration) since that's where my mind went when you said partnership.

Great video Lisa. 🙂 The 6 of cups is another card that was tricky for me because it's original keyword was "nostalgia". But that keyword made me think of remembering joyful memories from the past. So I chose the word "reconnect" because I feel that we sometimes reconnect with the things or people that once brought us joy (emotion). 🙂 Thanks so much for these videos.

For me I have always seen the 9 of cups as having the choice of things that make you personally happy. Where the 10 was about a harmonious & stable family/group. Personal contentment is a lot easier to achieve than a harmonious family (Or at least in my house) Ha

I just noticed Lisa that you’ve chosen the keyword “Comfort” twice: for the 4 of Cups and the Q of Pents.
Interesting that bc a word can have so many meanings

Lisa, i am loving this series even though I have been reading (mainly for myself) for over 30 years. I love the insightful words you have shared…really has helped me to shift engrained (not quite right) ways of thinking about the cards. Btw, I’ve decided to use my copy of The Textured Tarot as my training wheels deck…it’s the perfect card stock for that kind of use as I never really need to shuffle and mainly want the cards ordered. Anyway…thanks for this series…really good! 🤙🤗

Hi. Off topic question. Do you do something to your decks when you sell them, like clearing energies or something like that?

Hi Lisa, can I ask on your recommendation on size of alter cloth that you genuinely use? I know Peggy makes different sizes and they are all amazing.

    • @Lisa_Papez
      @Lisa_Papez  3 года назад +1

I use a bunch of different sizes, so I'm not sure how much help I'll be LOL. I use massive ones for my reading table, because they cover nicely on a wide angle shot LOL. But, I also use the little teeny ones that only hold 1 or 2 cards because they're just the right size to tuck in a bag with the deck. But if I wasn't recording, my sweet spot would be something in the 15x15" - 20x20" range because it's a nice size for most spreads! :) Hope that helped kinda? LOL
