  • Paloma Faith, KT Tunstall, and other songwriters at the Ivor Novello Awards have expressed concerns about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in music. The ceremony, which honors the craft of songwriting, was held in London, with artists including Bruce Springsteen, Lana Del Rey, and Skepta honoured. Paloma Faith, who has been a songwriter for 20 years, believes that meaningful songs cannot be written by "robots." Tunstall, who received her first Ivor Novello for Suddenly I See in 2006, finds the issue "worrying" but trusts that humans can recognize when music is heartfelt. CMAT, an Irish singer-songwriter, believes there is no place for AI in making music and believes it must be from the human experience.
