Dmitri sort of takes a perfect 4 minute tune and allows you to be even more immersed deeper into the vibe for just that little bit longer...amazing stuff!!
One of my favorite songs and this remix absolutely does it justice. I love how Dmitri does this thing where he sorta isolates what one particular instrument is doing for a few measures so you can really hear each part being played and how the entire thing comes together. I think that's a signature of his remixes and I really appreciate that.
I totally agree! I wish the disco backlash didn't happen because it forced Chic to change their song arrangements (no string section). Although Chic focused more on the groove, their remaining albums at Altantic went largely unnoticed. I'm hoping some top-notch remixers get inspired to work with their 1980-83 material. There's plenty of hidden gems to be discovered!

Because the guitar is isolated I personally think this is the best way to listen and copy Nile Rodgers guitar playing.
Yeah it is actually really easy to work it out from this track. In those older CHIC records guitar parts tend to bury into the mix more.
