Ben grew up playing piano and drums and I him heard say that his first (aborted) attempt at a university music degree was as a drummer on a percussion scholarship. I didn't know he played drums left-handed.
@@sratus Minchin is a legend. He only learnt piano to grade 3 and can't read or write music (just never learnt it). A lot of what he plays is improvised so he doesn't even play his own songs the same twice let alone playing someone else's song exactly how they play it. He is highly intelligent, and a lot of what he does also has some kind of charitable aspect to it too - he gives the revenue for the 50 best seats at every gig he plays directly to charity. He also has a lovely singing voice. He has a less refined tone he uses for his more comedic stuff.
That...may be the greatest thing that's ever happened. Civilization has peaked. It's all downhill from there.
The joy was palpable. These two sublimely talented men were reveling in their shared creation of music. What fun it is to watch them!
How have I never seen this before. This is SO perfect.x
Dammit youtube, what took you so long to show me this? I needed to know about this 4 years ago ffs.
Oh WOW…2 of my fabs together 💛🤩🤩
Love this!
Two of my favourites :) Thanks for uploading!
thank you SO much for uploading this !
Love Tim Minchin! Getting to know Ben Folds!
Did you know that Ben Folds helped William Shatner make an album that was actually pretty good?
It's titled "Has Been" if you're interested.
Me too!
Hey @RUclips may I like this more than once please?

Liked the Ben Folds part. Tim Minchin is a pain in the arse.
Is he too woke for you?
@@markroberts171 No, just find his singing voice, look and general jazz hands, musical theatre schtick irritating.
@@markroberts171 Ha, Ben is as woke as they come

@@PianoDiary85 I second that Minchin is a legend.
