Thank you for explaining this. I’ve been to 3 optometrists and none explained this blockage as simply and thoroughly as you. Also, none explained this technique. Thank you for sharing this information.
We are glad we could help. As eyecare providers we are all trying our best to provide the best possible care and explanations. Sometimes it takes a few different voices to make the message as clear as possible.
Where can we buy lid scrubs and zest
Dryeyerescue.com has a lot of great products. Feel free to use our code "FVO20" for a discount at checkout. For lid scrubs we recommend Eye Eco's TeaTree Eyelid & Facial Cleanser. ZEST is typically an in-office lid cleansing treatment but they may have this available on the website as well.
From where can we get this device TearCare ?
tearcare.com/ I believe it is only available for clinicians, but there is a doctor locator feature as well!
My new born son having this issues how can I help him
Number 1, you need to talk to his pediatrician and possibly a pediatric eye doctor. They are going to give you the best medical advice and can properly examine your son. That being said, in general term (not necessarily your son) newborns tend to have blocked tear ducts that will spontaneously open during the first year of life. Massaging the tear ducts and warm compresses can be helpful. Your son needs an examination and specific diagnosis to make sure you get the best possible treatment. I hope this helps!
New born baby tear duct open within year of 90% child please wait
It sounds like you are talking about blocked meibomian glands, not blocked tear ducts. You have BLOCKED TEAR DUCTS in your title.
Came to say this
Absolutely meibomian glands vs tear ducts. One of our first videos and horrible title.
@@CannabrannaLammer Spot on, meibomian glands, early video and poor title.
You didn't explain the apperatus very clearly, where to buy cost etc.
You are right and I will make a better video specifically outlining how the ZEST and TearCare (or any targeted eyelid heat based therapy) works. In short, the ZEST treatment is a deep cleaning that removes bacteria and any biofilm blocking your eyelids glands. Kind of like unblocking your pores. TearCare/heat therapy takes the contents of the glands, heats them up and allows them to turn to liquid and be expressed. Both of these are advanced in-office treatments that are part of an overall treatment plan. Cost varies based on each patients unique situation and needs. Any office that truly is a dry eye center will have these options. I hope this helps until I can make a more thorough video for you. Thank you for the feedback!
wished u explained more...not clear enough
I totally understand. Meibomian gland dysfunction is a complex and complicated disease. What would you like to know more about? We have many videos and if we do not already have one, I can make one that answers your specific questions!

this is the worst video! Don't listen to this guy he's lying! Washing the eyelids and lashes doesn't open up the oil glands AT ALL! You need to heat the oil glands above body temp for that to happen! Worst mgd expression video I've seen on internet!
1. As you know we do this for our fans and although you have such kind words for the video, we are not going to make our #1 fan just yet! Keep your comments coming and you may move to the top spot!
2. In the video we advise cleaning lids and lashes in an attempt to reduce inflammation and get rid of the bacteria that can cause the glands to be plugged. You are correct, that lid hygiene will not unclog the glands by itself, yet you fail to address the inflammation and biofilm that can block the meibomian gland openings and cause infections (styes/preseptal cellulitis)if you merely do warm compresses. Also, since you want to be technical, you need to heat the glands up above body temp to get them to express, but you knew that right? I will give you the benefit of the doubt as you gave us!
3. Here are some links to articles that can help you continue to educate on the benefits of lid hygiene! Remember we want to get to the root cause, not just the symptom. Thanks for your feedback!
