Another great video Paul 👍 Some great practical advise should we get some more of the white stuff again soon. Also good to see how good those shots made with old bodies are. A good reminder that we don’t have to have the latest & greatest camera body to take a fantastic photo👏👏
Thanks Adrian. Equipment helps to a point. But in terms of snow I just haven't taken that many good images in recent years.. because we hardly get any!
Another great practical video hopefully we are off to the highlands at the end of March fingers crossed I can use these tips, Take care Happy Christmas
Great video as always. I hope we will have some snow here in Stockholm but so far we got 3 sun hour in december the rest been gray gray gray and some rain its just so booooooooooring. Merry christmas and a verry much better new year
@@PaulMiguelPhotography Yes it just have to be so. If you got some time over will you visit my page with birdphotos on www.hkansphoto.se it should be just fantastic to know that you been there so if you want sign the guestbook. Just klick on the pics for larger format.
Another very useful vlog and tips I hope to put into use should we get any snow this year. I'm hoping to go to Gigrin Farm in Wales as I've always wanted to photograph the Red Kites in the snow there. I like the fact you covered one of the most important things as in clothing. It's so important to keep warm and dry. Only thing I would add is having a warm drink with you. Even in snowy conditions, it's important to keep hydrated. A small thermos I find is ideal. Easy to carry. Anyways, excellent job
I rarely take a flask, but if in a hide for hours I will. I used to take a big one.. but now I find the small thermos is perfect - less weight! Just a couple of drinks and that helps keep me warm.
could have done with this last week in the Cairngorms freezing my Telephoto lens off lol 😂 ... Great tips buddy! I hope it snows here soon!!!! I hope you are ok buddy, keep up the fab vids! stay safe and stay sane x JP
Thank you for these great tips, excellent video! Maybe you could consider making a short video on how to protect the camera gear while shooting when it is snowing (when not using a hide). Many thanks!
Thanks for the hints and tips Paul, I will be giving them a go on the birds in my backgarden today . I assume you will also be making the most of the snow we have here in Yorkshire today ? Thanks for sharing take care :D Teddy
Hi Paul brilliant video great tips only trouble is where I live it doesn't snow that often and when it does it just looks like someone dropped a tin of talcum powder lol. Hope you have a great Christmas and new year 🤔 so until next time take care and stay safe my friend.
Well timed video Paul, there's been nearly two weeks of snow on and off since you uploaded! Not so well timed is my watching of the video once it seems to have passed! Please can you share details of the gloves? Are they by Sealskinz?
Great video if we ever get any snow down here in the South. A grand solar minimum is coming which technically puts us in an ice age in the next few years, so this could be a very use full video to refer too in the next few years. Only thing we might have more pressing needs like food to think about and igloo building, just hope there wrong and we just get some really snowy Winters. 👃😀
I actually agree with you my friend (I realise we are the minority..). Yes, I hope for colder winters coming.. and I do expect it, just like you've said. Igloo building sounds fun though!
@@PaulMiguelPhotography I actually remember making an igloo out of snow one year in our back garden in Salisbury in my youth . No snow left on the grass though!
With snow is about the only moment I prefer to shoot full manually instead of manual with auto iso and exposure compensation, like you mentioned there are just to many variables in the mix that confuses the metering system, dark birds, with a lot of snow, light birds on dark branches, ... But when overcast and with snow you get an even lightning erery where thanks to the reflection of the snow, even shadow area's are generally not that dark
@@PaulMiguelPhotography only wet snow where all day in Belgium, but hoping if I go a bit in the higher parts this weekend there is still some snow there, fingers crossed, good luck also and enjoy
I’m watching this video during a snowstorm here in Toronto. LOL.
Very interesting and we now have snow😄
Really enjoyed your tips. Thank you.
Superb advice thank you 😊 👍
Very helpful video 👍
very informative Paul - love the image of the red kites squabbling in the snow!!
Clothing meant for winter fishing is also great... Flask of coffee a must... Merry Christmas 🎄 Paul...
Great vid Paul as always and the advice is very good too now all we need is white stuff

Yes, it is true. Lucky if I get two days of snow a year
i would love to test this if i will find snow somewhere, merry Xmas Paul

Thanks Phil. Gloves are Vallerret Markhof 2.0 . They are expensive, but well designed.

Absolutely Bart. The way snow can throw up light is wonderful. We've just had another load today!

some early pics of yours there Paul 20D and 50D
Yes, very old! They are still the best snow shots I have.
Fishing clothing is also ideal for wildlife photography, fishermen need to stay warm and not move about!
Absolutely.
