@@gideonstactical what’s wrong do u really hate usps ups and fedex or something. I get it’s hard to trust people that’s why I’d send u what your interested in and what u have for trade and send u what u want so u can have a look at them before sending what I would of wanted seems like a win win . Idk probably u just don’t like people and being behind a camera keeps u away from the people of less worth in your mind either that or your to lazy to put a few things in a box and put a pile of stamps on the box and mail it 🤷‍♂️. I kinda get it as I have learned u can’t trust the majority of mankind which is why I’ll make it fool proof when my side of trade shows up and u like it than u send what I wanted if anything it’s me that could be ripped off not u. Kinda disappointing a knife channel would want some new knives to show on your channel and I have plenty of them to trade from makers like BHK LT wright BRK falkniven tops cold steel kabar Enzo Ontario southern grind manly knives Benchmade crkt mora and a beaver craft spoon knife and carving blade. I have multiples from the majority of these makers and that’s just the fixed blades. I have another 100 folders from all the big companies spyderco Benchmade Almar ZT civivi WE knives hogue kershaw crkt cold steel pimped out buck 110’s and a 112 kizer Swiss Army knives opinel microtech and some slip joints from case schatt & Morgan GEC and spyderco back to locking folders I have folders from Rat Worx original American made Brous Blades and the Almar sere is an original made in Japan by-10 steel blade along with quality axes hatchets machetes shovels splitters and tomahawks all from great companies. This is just from the top of my head as I’m positive I’m forgetting a handful of companies. I know I’m ranting but I want u to know I’ll still love u if u decide not to trade even though it’s good for your channel your collection and just the plain fact of getting to try great new knives but maybe it’s all a show and pretending on RUclips you’re a knife guy is an easy way to make a little xtra cash kind of a side hustle maybe and if that’s the case u sure fooled me 🤷‍♂️. It just doesn’t make any sense to me besides the reasons listed above 🤔.

Pocket knives have come a long way over that past 50 plus years. Where I grew up, as kids most of us carried a cheap Barlow. By high school we saved up for a Case knife. The variety of designs and quality of materials available today are mind blowing.

I so done with $260 knives that are no better than $60 Civivi knives. Magnacut and fru fru steels are fine and dandy, but of few people can tell the difference when all you do is fondle the knife and use it 3 times a day to open Amazon packages. Love the show, sir. I'm just weary of krazy prices.

I love GM knives and I have a decent collection of Jesper Voxnaes designed knives. I have the Ace Sonoma V1 (full titanium) and the Ace Jutland (black coating and burlap micarta). Other Vox designed knives are CRKT Pilar 3 and Pilar 4; Viper Belone and Vale. All have a curved handle and a metal back spacer.

I love their designs for their attention to comfort during use, particularly for both large and small hands (I have tiny hands even or a female). I have the Tribeca, Farley, and the Vox designed MKM Mikro. These are no pouch pretties- I beat the hell out of my Tribeca and Mikro every day and they are up for anything work throws at them while my hands stay comfy and happy. The Farley is my most city/European laws-friendly apple slicer. All are nice to fidget with too. Yes they were pricey, but I’ve found them worth every penny.

  • @Salamando3D

You just described every Chinese knife brand in existence within the first 2 minutes. And everybody has fallen for the marketing hype/grift. Nobody remembers their knives a month after release, and good luck naming any a year later. And you really nailed it with the 'soul' part. China knives really do lack that feeling. It's hard to explain, but when I handle a USA-made knife (or really anything made outside of China), it just hits different.
GM is a knife company worth getting behind as long as they keep producing in Italy. They have a few knives OEM'd in China, but most are in made Italy. I don't own a GM knife yet as they tend to run too small for me (I prefer 3.5"+ blades generally speaking) but they are really nice looking. Jutland is pretty close and that blade is indeed very nice. Good stuff as always GT! 😎👍

@@ob1856 well said. I think you summarized the state of the knife union pretty accurately right there. The quality gap between China and USA-made still exists, materials and action be damned. There's simply no pride of ownership attached to something made in anonymous factories by wage slaves that ultimately only profit communism, whether these makers want to admit it or not. But that's the ultimate goal: take money out of our economy and pour it into theirs. I may not be able to control that with certain goods, but I sure as heck can with knives.

Pocket knifes are mass productions tools these days and they feel not special anymore (except collectors items). Feels like every day five new (different) pocket knifes of each brand come out. Companies only throw out variations of already known designs and only rarely does a new, unused design appear.
How many knifes you really need in your life to be happy and like to use everyday? 1, 3, 5, 10 or more? I have 6 different knifes collected over the last 30 years. I have them in different sizes and for various purposes.

There are two types of knives, those to be used as tools and those for vanity.
Knives all look the same because that form and shape is the one that works best. If you have small 200$ plus pocket knives, those are vanity knives.
Yes, Magnacut is one of the most expensive steels commonly sold. I'm not counting the bonkers steels like the Rex 121, Maxamet and the likes that are just ludicrous and meant as pure vanity knives. No one really needs 70+ RHC pocket knives.
You can buy incredibly good knives under 200$ that'll take insane punishment and possibly outlive you. Anything over that amount and you're breaking diminishing return odds. You're not gonna get much more improvement for your money.

If I'm being honest, when I got the email that they were coming out with a Biblio "XL", I was kind of disappointed when I saw it was 3.25". To me that's kind of Xtra Medium. It is nice looking though. And I never heard of the Yacht, and it's really nice looking. Have a great weekend Aaron.

What's this "heart and soul" knife business stuff? Aspire for that in a potential spouse, and count yourself blessed if you attain it.
For a knife, anything 1) affordable, with a 2) decent steel, a 3) versatile blade profile, 4) with a deep enough carry pocket clip [, and if possible (and it is) 5) doesn't help fill the coffers of the C.C.P.,] is--to my estimation--a perfectly acceptable knife.

Way overpriced and for European (like me) it's totally ridiculous to buy one of their knives as they only sell from the USA, stupidly increasing the price for no reason, their knives going from Italy to the USA (first extra import fees) then back to Europe (second import fees) so basically their knives only feed the tax system of both EU and USA for no reason and are 2x as expensive as all their major Italian competitors for no reason.
