Nice idea of having the jacks below the keyboard. I've occasionally wondered what would be stopping someone from building one of these like an upright piano, where the bass strings run diagonally from top left to bottom right, crossing over the treble and being plucked at the top.
Thank you for the compliment! I have built two, neither with a soundboard cover -- haven't felt the need. If I made one, it most likely would be a five-part accordion fold, to allow it to be folded back against the spine - recognizing my space-saving purpose in building an upright.
It's too bad that you didn't show the most interesting part! Which is how the horizontal jack is moved by a horizontal key lever! LOL..Maybe next time, huh?!
Look for "How it works", a later upload on my channel. My latest version is the same, except I no longer use golf tees, just a fixed "jack drive pin", which is less trouble -- one less moving part. Thank you for your interest!
Check the "How it Works" upload on my RUclips channel. One difference from that file, in my latest version, is to glue in the "jack drive pins" rather than use removable golf tees for the purpose.
Excellent production and performance. Thank you both.
Wonderful playing!

I love the sound very much!!
A question: Where did you position the microphone? It seems quite perfect to me.
It was recorded on a smart phone lying on the keyboard cover.
I’d love to see the action design, including how the jacks work in relation to the soundboard. Was this intentionally left out?
Gorgeous instrument!
Maybe I will put together another slide show (with music) on the action design...thank you for the compliment!
Thank you for building instruments!
I’ll look forward to that.
You won a new subscriber. I'M FROM BRAZIL and someday I want to have a harpsichord shop
Wishing you success in that ambition!
Nice
Which tuning system are we hearing in the recording?
Werckmeister 3
A very nice upright harpsichord. Does the string compartment close or is it always open?

I like that. Your reasoning makes a lot of sense. Thanks for your reply.@@davidbmcbrayer
Sounds amazing , full bodied sound. Great
Where find you the plans to build one?
Good question..or is it in the realms
Of the occult...?
It is my design

Check my later upload "Baroque Italian Clavicytherium How It Works" -- thanks for your comment!
It doesn't show the most important thing: the mechanics!!!!

Sounds just like a harpsichord.
Thank you-- it is, of course, a harpsichord! I'm currently building a third of this basic design.
Non fa vedere la cosa più importante: la meccanica!!!
