IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE: In the calamity lock combo, make sure that when you summon calamity that you pay attention to not miss timing with it. So if you were to chain Etude of the branded onto another effect then calamity will not be able to use the effect
Can you explain this? Im a beginner and dont get it😅
@@florianschmidt5869 so basically, if a card says "when this card is summoned" it means that it needs to be able to happen right after its summoned. So for example if someone did CL1 cosmic cyclone to destroy Etude, and then CL2 to activate Etude. Calamity would be summoned as resolution of 2 and then 1 would resolve after that meaning that Calamity was not able to activate "when" it was summoned because something else needed to happen after that. This is what people mean when they talk about missing timing. So if you attempt to summon calamity, it must be as the first part of a chain so that when the chain resolves, Calamity will be the last thing to happen allowing you to then activate it on the new chain because nothing else has happened between it being summoned and attempting activation.
So what's the chain links between calamity and scarred? Wouldn't it be cl1 calamity cl2 scarred or would it need to be opposite
You need cl1 to be Calamity. Doing it that way also plays around other interactions since if they were to try and negate with a baronne that can only negate the last part of the chain

I personally see Assault Sychron as a good addition to the deck as it allows you to cycle through Supernova. Also, if you didn't use it already, remember you can always instead of adding red zone, add crimson Gaia and then use crimson Gaia to search red zone.
Funny enough assault synchron allows you to play through nib to an extent as nib tributes 😂
They need to unban King Calamity and instead of just using any non-Tuner, they need Red Dragon Archfiend as material to summon him. Locking King Calamity behind RDA oriented deck, right where he belongs. Kinda like Vanguard cards restriction back in the old days called "Lord".

You forgot at the end where Red zone can chain into DRNM and using your abyss to use its effect to negate the DRNM

@@nickmanley4552 just monster effects. You're not chaining abyss to DRNM. You're chaining to red zone cuz Red zone is a trap card. In this case, you chain red zone to DRNM, then chain abyss in response to red zone and negate DRNM like that

@@ChosenOne651what are you talking about, it'll never be like branded😂. RDA has some strong cards, but unlike branded, it dies to one handtrap, and usually once you make your board, if it gets wiped you got no followup.

As much as i like the deck.. any interruption destroy the combo and you end on nothing :/
I'm about 7 months too late to this video. not only have i picked up RDA for locals using the starter decks, I'm going to build this for an event. What I'm disappointed in is missing those fire playmats.
I've finally got the Red Dragon Archfiend/Jack Atlas Theme Structure Deck (The Crimson King) plus I'm working on powering it up 2 it's full maximum strength but with only Limited Editions as well as Unlimited Editions in the Extra Deck & mostly Unlimited Editions in the Main Deck 4 a little bit more variety!
Thanks for an amazing deck list and bread and butter combos Sam, looking forward to learning this deck.
This is a perfect deck for the king. And something I'm looking forward to playing. Because I've always liked Jack Atlas and his playstyle of being aggressive.

@teamsix, misplay 16:53. You originally targeted crimson resonator to be level 1 and not vision resonator then, synchroed with vision as a level 1.

He just misspoke there. Synchro Lv 6 from Bone Archfiend (4) and Vision Resonator (2) is perfectly fine, as Crimson is the one that's lv 1
If you summon red dragon archfiend on turn 1 remember his effect triggers that desteoys all of you monsters that did not attack this turn. Yes this still applies turn 1 be careful
you can protect them with soul resonator
calamity will get banned and will not comeback for a long time also if you read the card it states ur opponent can't use cards on the field at all Intel someway somehow you make it go gonzo for probably 10 to 15 years just like Harpies Feather Duster
In MD whenever I try to chain link scarred and etude to summon calamity and rda I miss the activation timing . Is there any sure way to avoid that ?
Thought we need to link summon to special summon synchro’s/xyz’s to a zone they point to?

I may be confused: Doesn't Branded Beast activate during the end of your turn and Etude synchro summons only on activation, not once per turn, so wouldn't you be forced to summon King Calamity at the end of your turn rather than the beginning of opponent's?
It's just during either players turn. Beasts recycling effect is during end phase. As they're continuous, they can be used at any point on being face up essentially

You're right! just got time to test this out in a simulator. The wording was pretty ambiguous. It seems it can even be activated every turn, meaning you could King Calamity again on your next draw phase if you run Time to Stand Up or something. I was still using Synchro Call and Trap Trick in my deck.
these combos are possible after 10 starter hand tests or one ash/imperm its pass turn so.. either fun deck or nothing here

I think a card that many players overlook is Absolute Powerforce, this card in combination with RDA and Crimson Gaia is basically an auto win.
It will give your RDA 1000 atk for the damage step, it will deal pearcing damage AND it doubles the damage your opponent takes. So if you attack a Monster with 0 Defense you will do 8000 damage.
Crimson Gaia will guarantee that you can attack into a defense monster, because it will set every card your opponent controles face down. On top of that if you didnt kill your opponent with the first attack, RDA will destroy every other defense monster on their side, and usally one other Synchro Dragon will be enough to finish the job, (which you can summon because of the Crimson Gaia effect btw)
On top of that you can search Absolute Powerforce with your Crimson Gaia, so you only have to play one copy of it.

Bystial are such a splashable engine for any decks. Nothing wrong with that, but I wonder if Konami going to hit them harder next time around for the Banlist 🤔. But I could say this, Sam needs to relax lol. He over here blinding my eyes with those gorgeous Pot cards lol 🤣. I swear those cards looking nice just like jewelry 🤣🤣🤣
They're not actually that splashy, since you need to be running enough darks/lights to even make it worth playing them. Their quality also takes a huge hit if the decks in the meta aren't darl/light based, since they lose their utility has hand traps as well. See how much they fell off because Kashtira, Unchained. Purrely took over after Tear? Magnamut and Lubellion are the only real issues imo.

Is there anything to replace pot of this is a budget deck for me my main is branded despia and pot of p is kinda stinky in it so I never bothered I have alot of the bystials only one lubellion decks to expensive the way it is im not looking on paying over 80$ on it I already have alot of the cards I will need dispater as I also need it for branded synchro I don't have baron either which is fine for that deck because you usually can't summon it anyway

In the second combo why don’t you add crimson Gaia with vision resonator and with crimson Gaia add red zone ? It would allow you to have crimson Gaia search for t3 if needed

I very much love the resonator/RDA deck, it's a go to for a non-meta deck and I'm glad it got support. Don't get me wrong, the list is good but there's a lot I just don't agree with for the list like prosperity and feel there are cards missing like red reign so you can essentially banish your opponents whole board of monsters twice if you have red super nova, the assault package or even the fire ant ascator package would do well. I'd personally add in one red resonator and a creation resonator, probably side a chain resonator too. Again, this is my personal preference and I'm glad you have a deck you are happy with

Prosperity makes this deck have over a 77% consistency which is bonkers.
@@zerealzlimzlaney8057 maybe, but I personally don't think it has any place in a deck like this that heavily relys on the ED. not only that, but you already have a good amount of consistency cards and by adding in resonators command (iirc the name) the quick play that lets you search a fiend, there's a wandering king wildwind or a bone archfiend. Better options without the need to sacrifice some of your ED
the Duskwalker and Supay package is probably better
@@pkmnlover3812 to get to red rising it is but then if you don't have a resonator in your grave, then what? Hope you have a lv 2 or 3 tuner in your hand? The fire ant package gets you to an 8 which has more then just red rising for options, therefore making it the better package
