Darius, Mandarin and Cantonese are a form of the Chinese language. So when you say you want your children to learn a language say, Chinese language. And if the person you are speaking too knows anything about anything about Chinese language they will say which form. Cantonese is the hardest because it has six to nine tones and Mandarin only has four tones. I learned how to speak Cantonese growing up in San Francisco, in China Town. Just a FYI Love you both.
